I know it's so easy to hate, but this album is seriously impressive considering that the singer/guitarist and songwriter was 17 at the time of its recording. The mixture of thrash and metalcore was fresh at the time and the guitar playing was well above many of the big metalcore bands of the day. The downpicking is still impressive now, Hetfield would be impressed.Thoughts on the album anons?
Trivium are underrated. Shogun was one of the best metal albums of the 2000's.
>>129067322Ascendancy too.
BOATRUDDERIt used to be so cool to shit on Trivium, but beneath the mocking, EVERYONE actually loved Pull Harder, and the ones that mocked it the most were secretly the biggest fans
BRO IT'S 2004 AGAIN AND I'M PLAYING RUNESCAPE LISTENING TO ASCENDANCY
>>129067322yeah their best
early trivium was unique in that matt was writing guitar parts as both a rhythm and lead player combined together because it was just him for a while, so he needed the standard metalcore 057 pedal tone riffs and the lead noodling on top. plus picrel specifically had some very cool chords used; lots of tritones, 4ths and other chords with non-standard note relations.
>>129068709Yea I hear a lot of Opeth influence in the chords, Dream theater too. Fugue verse is just the Pull me Under verse
Trivium are great. I skipped the lighter genres of metal and went straight into extreme metal because I was more into punk/alternative music growing up, so most of the lighter clean vocal bands do nothing for me, but Trivium are the exception. Fantastic songwriting, great guitar, they're one of the best metal bands ever, and I'm mostly a doom/black metal fan.

>>129067356Trivium hate came from them being pushed by RR pretty much everywhere. They were in all metal mags, all metal events, all festivals, and they even got to open for Iron Maiden in '06. So people got tired of them. But they're probably the best modern metal band imo.
OP was specifically about Ember to Inferno and everyone made the thread about their more popular albums. Fucking normies
