I live in a city of a little over 1 million people. I have a project, it's sort of a minimal guitar thing like Ai Aso. But there is no scene at all for something like this here. I've been going to shows and talking to people and looking up events for months. Metal, country, americana, pop punk, pop, hip hop all have scenes here. But there is no real artsy scene or venue. Not even really something like early 2010s indie. Sometimes weird artists come by on tour but I have no environment where I think my project would be well received. Does anyone have experience with something similar? I can't afford to move to a place like New York or Montreal with an actual music scene at the moment.
