>>129083425for the first day or two of the soundcloud dump, he pretended he was an amateur musician called eric, but by the time he got to ssnb, he was no longer anonymous, everybody knew who was behind that account.

>>129083425The nigger is just excellent.
What did he say though? He begged his parents to get him a used Roland System something or other. System 100 maybe? Something. I suppose he had a different synthesizer or two before then but back in those days that meant like an organ, or some portable "organ" like a Casio. I had CT-300, it's gone now, somebody nicked it or it got pitched. But it was based. Had a number of rhythms on the built in drum machine, 2 fill ins. And about 25 cheesy voices.Still looking for one. It ran on a bunch of D batteries too, had a built in speaker and everything. My mom got it for me to practice piano but the keyboard was like 3 octaves, and also there was zero feel. Each key at some point in the travel just switched on that voice full bore, no velocity, no aftertouch, no nothing.
>>129083425>circlejerking a b side throwaway trackif the artist didn'tt even bother using his name when putting it up, he really didn't think highly of it
COME ON YOU CUNTLET'S HAVE SOME APHEX ACID

>>129083425>when I was 14Sure...
>>129083425I like a number of Aphex Twin's works but I don't really understand his reputation as a genius pioneer of electronic music. Can anyone help me understand?Take this track for example. It's really just a couple of pad chords, supplemented by a synth line that mostly just outlines the chords. It's nice, but there's nothing that daring or complex about the composition and the use of electronics doesn't seem that innovative either. Is this really that different than what Brian Eno and Laurie Spiegel were already doing in the 70s - or if you go back even further, Delia Derbyshire in the 60s?
>>129093060>le complexIts genius is in its simplicity, tho
>>129093060RDJ charisma and good self-marketing lead to instill a cult mentality in his fanbase.
>>129093060The context in which that track and the rest of the soundcloud dump (given away for free on soundcloud with RDJ hanging out in the comments) was released made people ignore the weaker side of these tracks.
