>start slow>use a metronome>gradually increase the tempoThis shit doesn’t work. I’m convinced this is advice is given for the sole purpose of sabotaging your musical progress
>>129093353Cry about it you little bitch, it takes a lot longer to get good than you think
>>129093353If you start slow you will likely learn bad habits that make it impossible to play fast. If you start fast you are forced to learn correct technique. It's easier to improve accuracy than learn a whole new technique.
It works for actually being precise and consistent. And it takes a long time. I jumped in at the deep end and learned things beyond my skill level or played things too quickly, but I was sloppy, and I could only fix that with slow practice.
>>129093393I don't think this is true. Especially if you have instruction on technique. Playing fast you will move inefficiently trying to keep up. Playing slowly first you will find the most efficient movements and amounts of pressure and whatnot. I always liked to do a bit of fast and slow practice just because I was impatient and preferred to get a song down first with mistakes and then correct it later.
>learning consistancy and proper timing doesnt work and sabotages musical progressChrist no wonder zoomers cant make worthwhile music
That’s literally how classical musicians have done since the beginning of time
>>129093393You are painfully retarded. Completely false.
I have a powerviolence band and 3/5 members are from the hardcore scene. When we started recording our e.p. and they were all saying record at a slow tempo and speed it up, like this was the most common sense approach to recording punk songs, I had to pump the brakes and make a few executive decisions. I'm a vocalist who writes songs on guitar for other people to play, and I don't demo anything that didn't take hours of dialing in muscle memory with a metronome blooping at 280 bpm for half the day.Maybe that's a thing with shred guitar or something, idunno, but I cut my teeth on the classics, Led Zeppelin and Nirvana, and never needed to slow some shit down. Just play your guitar.
>>129093353Just practice bro, not that difficult, in a few weeks you'll get the hang of it
>>129093353You have failed to pass the filter. Quit now.
If you cant play slow you cant play fast. Simple as
lol Malmsteen never started slow with a metronome
works on my machine
>>129093353it does work though you're just a homofag who doesn't understand that dexterity is something you develop through conditioning.
>>129093393I'm on your side for guitar/bass. It's best to figure out the easiest or most comfortable fingering position for you personally, which you most likely won't have to think about when playing slow. For memorizing the notes, I guess it helps playing slow, but it doesn't help you actually play it.But for piano, this probably doesn't work as well.
