My dad passed away four days ago and it's got me thinking about him a lot. So, I figured I would share his favorite song and encourage you guys to share your dad's favorite songs as well.

Oddly, my dad is a surprisingly patrician who showed to me David Bowie, The Cure, Echo And The Bunnymen and even Aphrodite's Child. I would never expect that since we are from a third world country.

Which one? Mine grew up in countryside Brazil and still liked stuff like Vangelis, UFO, Kraftwerk and Genesis

Thanks.
I'm more worried about my mom. They still flirted and grabbed each other's ass such like newlyweds up until he died. Over 50 years of that and now he's just gone.

I haven't seen my own Dad in years. Gonna visit though. Hopefully soon. Don't know when, but we'll get together then. I know we'll have a good time then.

I'm sorry for your loss OP. Take care of yourself. My dad has a handful of songs that each receive the designation of being his #1 favorite, but one of those is Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits. https://youtu.be/h0ffIJ7ZO4U

Awesome thread. Sorry for your loss, OP.

This is something I need to get acquainted with.

I'm an awful lot like my dad in most ways, but one of the most striking differences between us is that he doesn't like music. I have no idea if he has a favorite song and I'm sure if I asked him, I'm sure he would tell me he hasn't put much thought into it. He says he likes this and that sometimes, but he doesn't go out of his way to listen to music ever. Meanwhile I write about music anonymously on a forum where most users disdain music as a whole. I really wish I had something to contribute, but I don't.

Sorry for your loss, anon

What a shame. When I was in school I had a friend who had always told me he didn't like music at all. He didn't even know who John Lennon was. It was one of the most weird statements I have ever heard in my life and until nowadays I can't understand how such people could ever exist.

It's been my experience that most people who "don't like music" really don't like singing. Which is fair because that's definitely a human making human noises and, honestly, humans are fucking terrible and I dislike anything associated with them by default.

Interesting idea. I'll keep it in mind next time I can get him to sit in front of my speakers.

Sorry for your loss OP. Here's my dad's favorite song, he dedicated it to my mom, who passed away last year. If you have any loved ones suffering because of your dad's passing, be strong for them, and I hope you'll find solace and strength for yourself in that.
