How can I become better songwriter?
Share your ideas. I'll start:
>if you pick the guitar and expect the song to just happen, it's like DaVinci noodling in his notebook and expecting Mona Lisa to just happen. Before you start songwriting session, you have to get inspired. For me, the best inspiration is art, because it awakens in me beauty-induced sense of delight, which is very conductive to the composition process, but it can be anything. Just have some frame of reference to the thing you are about to create
>focus on the melody and it's logic. Use that logic to convey the meaning you chose for the song
>learn music theory and train your ears
>>
If you're bad and passionate your music will sound better than someone who's good and sterile. If you haven't experienced serious pain in life, you cannot create good music or art. Imperfections are more emotional.
