Sadly not a huge loss. Andy had an awesome stage presence but in following the band nearly since their debut I've come to learn more and more how much the music is mostly done by Zach. Andy definitely added some probably iconic sampling and production ideas but because they're pretty esoteric about crediting we'll never know what he's responsible for.

I'm hoping the next album is very different and worth the wait. If it's just another Year of the Snitch that would be a let down. I remember when every album was a huge shift in sound but starting with Bottomless Pit, an album that I love, their sound expansion started to stagnate.

I personally think Bottomless Pit, Steroids and Year of the Snitch are all distinct sounding, just a bit more subtle differences than their original run of albums.

This is true, but the point still stands that Full Moon-Jenny Death is a really really creative steam train of albums that I guess they couldn't keep up, which is OK.
