i started looking to join as conservatory because thats just an experience that i want to have in my life and i have been getting 0 support, everyone i talk to about it just discourages me. And that + so many musicians that i know that dont even fucking want to do anything or people who used to play music and gave up it pisses me off. Why is it that everyone is scared of taking music seriously

I think getting a degree in music theory kills a part of the innate spark that makes music fun and engaging. Then again, perhaps its a matter of perspective.
