I used to think Felix Mendelssohn and Mendelssohn Bartholdy were different composers and it would constantly confuse me when looking up recordings.>Oh this says it's the work I'm looking for but it's by this Bartholdy guy, not Felix. Pass and keep on looking.
>>129158848>Concern trolling: the action or practice of disingenuously expressing concern about an issue in order to undermine or derail genuine discussion.Which has nothing to do with someone openly mocking you though imitation norseposter, I always wonder why ESL triple down on their lack of understanding literally every single time. >t has nothing to do some throwaway comment you misinterpretWhat was misinterpreted? Its not the first time you've said it either, you've had many, many anti-church meltdowns here, and frequently say all of Bach is pointless besides Art of Fugue or Goldberg Variations. In-fact you've dismissed the entirety of the baroque period multiple times in much the same manner where you suggest only Bach has any merit and the rest is garbage. >Yet another dishonest statement. And also, that would be you.REALLY NORSEPOSTER? You know I've been very lenient and friendly about not ruining your aristocrat larp here, but now this is too far. You worship BLACK METAL, the reason you care so much about CHOPIN is because HEKS from OBTAINED ENSLAVEMENT said he was influenced by Chopin. You spent literal years on /metal/ spamming garbage like this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfsOmT-em_EI wasn't even going to ever mention this kind of stuff around here because I do like you, but this level of flagrant denial and then pushing it on me is too much for me to bear. https://desuarchive.org/mu/thread/125560522/#q125565850. Don't make me pull up the archives of you answering to norseposter as well, or when you worshiped Dark Funeral despite it being utter lowbrow slop even for metal standards. Now look at what you've done, that NaiveIdiot who calls you "RachAnon" is probably crying at their keyboard realizing they spent their days asking for the opinion of a metaltard.

>>129159133It was necessary, Norseposter had frankly become much too arrogant and hypocritical around here. Iass accuses me of dishonestly and yet hides his metaltard self from the rest of you because he cares more about his reputation and roleplaying than being honest. I'm telling you, sisterspammer made him a much worse person in general and he used to be more articulate in general, now hes just a boring bot >>129159156Bit interesting really, you would have expected someone going from a metal general to a classical general to become more capable of discussion, not the reverse. Nonetheless, she was shocked. Do I deserve a medal? :3

Here Fabrizio Chiovetta presents three of them, illustrating different aspects of the composer's poetic style. We find Schumann free and passionate in the Fantasie, dedicated to Liszt, lyrical and intimate in the Arabeske, then simple and tender in the Kinderszenen, in which, after all the games and caprices and childhood frolics, the poet finally speaks.Jed Distler gave this recording a 10/10.https://www.classicstoday.com/review/fabrizio-chiovettas-marvelous-schumann/I came across this recording because I looked up recent recordings of Brahms' late piano works, and a recording popped up by this pianist which comes out later this month, so I'm definitely excited for that and gonna post it when it does become available. In the meantime, this ought to be good!
There's no more paralyzing decision than deciding which set of Bach's WTC I want to listen to on that day. After much back-and-forth, after a handful of recordings I pulled up and almost pressed play on only to stop myself and change my mind at the last moment, I've chosen to go with...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFqbz3TufME&list=OLAK5uy_nOj9ZI9kc8GX4qzMtGz_HJyI9gq6kHbrE&index=16
>>129159997fuck, maybe I should actually go with the... no, this is fine for today. See, this would be one benefit of having a physical collection: it'd require more effort and time to change the music, so it'd dissuade me from doing it on a whim.
>>129159997How can you even enjoy a set of unrelated pieces so many times over? I just pick a few prelude&fugues and move on.
>>129160087Yeah, it's probably to my own detriment but I can't help it, I'm like this with all works, sets, and putative piano cycles. The biggest indulgence I occasionally grant myself is I'll start listening from the halfway point, ie the 13th, which is where you'd see a split on CD, so it's like chapter 1 (1-12) and 2 (13-24) of each book. But yes, the main drawback is I'm undoubtedly much, much more familiar with the first 8 P&Fs than I am the final 8, which isn't great. I should on more occasions start listening from the 17th or 20th, but like I said, my autism can't help it.I suppose I just don't like approaching classical pieces as if they were singles, even though that's exactly what many piano pieces are.
>>129160087>>129160114Plus they're, y'know, masterpieces. Why switch to anything else? It's not like I'm forcefeeding myself, I love the WTC.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIPXYK5bR_g&list=OLAK5uy_nOj9ZI9kc8GX4qzMtGz_HJyI9gq6kHbrE&index=6
