1980s CDs don't bit rot unless you store them in a damp basement, I know you're a zoomer because you weren't alive before 2010 to experience the difference between cheap, disposable 2000s CD-Rs and professionally pressed commercial music CDs from the 80s-90s that had much higher quality standards.

i've been into buying CDs for over 25 years and have almost exclusively bought used CDs for the previous 15. i have a collection of CD-Rs that either i burnt or i purchased at local shows from no name local bands. in my experience disc rot is not a serious problem, most CDs are destroyed via scratches than disc rot
