This album resonates with a profound Spiritual undercurrent, as each track serves as an enigmatic passage through the labyrinth of consciousness, unearthing hidden truths and the duality of experience. Vaughn and Gonzalez wield sound as a mystical key, unlocking portals to otherworldly realms, where haunting vocals intertwine with intricate, spiraling instrumentation, reflecting both the chaos of the material world and the serene beauty of spiritual awakening. The seamless juxtaposition of shadow and light within their compositions evokes an inner quest that transcends mere auditory pleasure; it becomes a pilgrimage of the soul. As listeners navigate this audial odyssey, they are invited to confront the paradox of existence, emerging transformed. Sing Into the Void is not just an album, it is a transformative experience, an exalted 10/10 masterpiece that redefines the boundaries of what music can embody.”

Truthfully the sound is very organic and less produced and polished, but to me, very comparable to acts like Dr Dog and similar dialed back acoustic sets on record. "That'll be the Day" is a very strong track that hits a cord with me that I've already made personal; it reminds me of a speech I never wrote to my girlfriend. I was thinking the other day of iconic sounds and 'perfect' songs people relate to a thought or theme; Song mentioned would be something I'd want to sing to the missus one day in the same spirit. While I might be in my own thoughts with it and this could be an acquired sound, there really isn't much stopping me from enjoying this track in the similar vein to the bands and styles mentioned. If I hated this a lot I would not have bought it twice, digitally and on record. It might make me daft and a person with terrible taste, but maybe not -- I would like to make music like this one day with the same level of honesty and enthusiasm.I have nothing but the highest praise for this stuff. Thanks mitch. Keep at it

People “bag” on bitchell because he makes personal shill threads where he samefags shamelessly. And he trolls these community shill threads with pastas about himself and is just generally an annoying piece of shit. >>129222116Listen, your music is objectively poorly made. There's lo-fi/singer-songwriter that's done with care and attention to detail but your shit is boring, the tracks have nothing happening, there's no development and you're not improving. The riffs suck because they barely exist, most of your songs are one single note or chord on a loop. That shit sucks and it's not how good music is made. You're on 4chan bro, make some interesting sounding music or buy an instrument and actually learn to play because right now you are not even a musician. You have no supporters on any of your releases because there's no one who would pay a single dollar to have files of your music. This is straight up air pollution and a waste of bandwidth. Do better and if you can't then stop.

>>129220152It’s ok, it’s missing a certain energy. I bet you know that though, so it’s a good way to start off if you’re rusty. I’d try really throwing the listener a curveball in your next song. >>129199635I kind of love Dewy Hill. I hate any use of AI for anything at all though, so I hate the thumbnail. The music is dope af though, I hope you didn’t use AI. Any use of AI at all is going to kill your growth. Honestly, you are too good to for AI. You’re better than any machine could ever be. Everyone on this thread is. I think people use AI because they don’t have enough faith in themselves, it’s sad. Draw your own thumbnail! I have no doubt a crude drawing that you created would fit your music better than some AI mockery. But I Love the song! Especially the end!
>>129225889The first track is great. The second one is also starting out well. Solid video game music. Have you tried networking with smaller-time game creators?
Here’s a hard truth most people here probably don’t want to hear: You are failing, and not because your music is bad. In fact, a lot of what gets posted here is genuinely decent. The problem is that your ambition far exceeds your actual reach and effort. You’re making music for shill threads, so it shouldn’t surprise you that shill threads are the only audience you ever get. Your music will never go further than you do. Take dapmasternasty as an example. He’s been posting and starting these threads for what feels like since the dawn of time, and after all this time he has only 135 soundcloud followers to show for it.. one hundred and thirty-five.. That’s a number you could surpass in a single day if you played live shows and had your music on Spotify.People like to say you can still become something out of nothing, but that’s becoming an increasingly unrealistic scenario unless you hit a one in a billion lottery where a song randomly goes viral on tiktok or some shit. You have to give to get. Spamming the same links over and over in shill threads is not a growth strategy. Now, if all you want is the occasional listener and you’re treating this purely as a hobby, that’s fine, more power to you. But if you’re posting here because you genuinely think this is a path to “making it” I'm sorry but it isn’t. This board is effectively dead, and most of the remaining users are either stuck gooning in kpop generals or mindlessly fawning over the latest poptimism nonsense. You can do better. You can build something real and even make a living from your music. But that requires leaving this bubble, playing live, meeting people, and putting your work where actual listeners are, which unfortunately for a majority of 4chan users, seems like an impossible task to ask.
>>129226434You are right of course but am too scared to play live and wouldn't even know where/how to anyway.
>>129226447Look up local venues near you or ask friends on facebook if they go to local shows and where. Find out where you're local scene that you think you'd fit into plays at and go there, not to play but to observe. Feel it out, talk to people, find the sound engineer or ask a bartender "hey I'm interested in playing here who do I need to talk to?" If you're polite and sound professional they will guide you the right way. 9/10 out of 10 you'll end up speaking to whoever is in charge of organizing live shows and they'll just ask you a few questions, like what do you play and whatnot. Explain to them you're interested in having your first live performance there and most likely they will oblige and go over potential dates and equipment you may need. At the end ALWAYS ask about pay if they don't bring it up. You may think that seems a bit arrogant being that it's your first time or you may be nervous to but music IS a business and they will see you as a professional and confident if you ask. Just don't haggle with them or anything take what you can get even if it's like something as low as $50 take it. Exposure is worth far more in the beginning than anything. Focus on exposure and growth and the pay will follow you accordingly. Thing is with a lot of these places you will have people in the crowd that are in their own bands that play there or know people who do. You could get noticed by a local band member and be confronted to and asked if you could be in an opening act (this is one of the best case scenarios early on) pretty rare but not impossible.
>>129225946Thanks. This hasn't been my goal, but it would not hurt to grow in another scene.>>129226434Most of us don't have enough charisma to play live. Generally, composer is a job for introverts, and performer is a job for extroverts.
>>129227973>Most of us don't have enough charisma to play live. It's not even that, I wouldn't even know how/what to do, I'm recording multilple parts with different instruments by myself, how would I even perform that live by myself?

>>129228786As a solo performer you could easily put together something live. A spontaneous blend of your various sources, phases and methods would be captivating. Of course this sort of ensemble would be wasted on a bar or club, so it's all about the venue, ideally places more inclined to improvisation, for the committed listener. Galleries, lounges and shops are great, maybe a weekly residency, even if it's just 1 day out of 7. You could do a show for headphones only via junction boxes too, anything's possible if you think long enough and ask around. The setup could be homemade or it could include you amongst an assortment of devices, mixers, capture equipment, playback machines, signal paths, delay units, chambers and traditional instrumentation (like your recorder and saxophone) all fed through your own sound system. That's always a nice look. It'd have to be a personal approach is what I'm guessing, and every outing could be completely different. Since it's just you the experience can be tailored to the environment on the fly. Throw in some circuit bent equipment to fill out the space, book a show with other musicians, and I can't see how you could go wrong. The sets could be 15 minutes or 5 hours, with your music this is all very open-ended.
>>129226447>You are right of course but am too scared to play live and wouldn't even know where/how to anyway.>>129227973>Most of us don't have enough charisma to play live. You guys are pathetic. If you're this scared of failure your future is even more scared of success. Your music then reflects your insecurities. Let me tell you something, it's not like some movie where you play your first show and the crowd just goes wild cause you're music is so good. No, you will suck, your sound will suck, everything may fall apart, but no matter how bad it is as long as you pick it all back up you will come out on the other side better for it.Let me tell you what happened at my first live show. We were playing our first live gig at a mostly metalcore venue and our band played indie/punk. We were totally out of place. We were nervous as hell as we had never played live before and usually REALLY good bands play there and looking back we totally sucked ass. Plus I had to play on my studio manager's drumset which I begged not to because I hated his set it was old, shitty, and I thought it sounded like trash. All throughout the set my snare strainer kept flipping off cause his snare was old and it didnt lock in place properly anymore. And at one point the whole entire drumset just straight up collapses right there on me. I literally got so mad I threw my sticks down and stormed off stage. It was easily one of the most embarrassing moments of my life, but at the same time was extremely humbling because I realized well it can't really get any worse than that for a drummer and I already lived through it. So we kept playing. We got pretty good and eventually we played more shows and were going to make a record, that was right before our lead singer had some gay crisis of faith mental breakdown and wanted to 180 the band into a christian rock band. I said nope I'm out.
>>129226447Don’t listen to these chuckleheads. It’s not fuckin 1970 anymore, you don’t have to play live. Davie504 had his first live performance years into his career. Just keep making music and don’t get caught up in other bullshit. Also just use your fuckin testicles and don’t be scared of being live. Meaning, fuckin man up and power through it.
>>129230823>Davie504 had his first live performance years into his careerDude was a viral youtuber with BILLIONS of video views though that's not even comparable in the slightest. Dude was already making millions off of his video content, not even his songs. Bro is more comparable to freaking PewDiePie than an actual artist.
>>129230859Doesn’t change a thing. These days you can make a music career without ever playing live, you just have to work the audience.>>129228786Your music is too weird for main stream and that’s a fact. I think it’s pretty cool, but as it is now, it won’t do much. If this kind of music is your thing, the only way to make money off it is with film/video game scoring. Listen to more original film scores and game scores. Get into contact with indie game devs. Don’t even bother trying to play live, that’s terrible advice for your style.
>Stoner>Noise>Doomhttps://youtu.be/49F5foAjVfoMy first ever EP released, the most work was put into the last track, huge shout-out to Mr Doom for uploading it <3
>>129230405>If you're this scared of failureThe fear is not of failure, it's of performing itself. Stage fright. Anxiety. The outcome is almost irrelevant.>>129230169Sounds like i would have to spend a bunch of money i don't have just to be able to pull a performance. Plus i live in a town with absolutely no scene of any kind at all, especially not for the kind of stuff i do. >>129230934You don't have to have mainstream appeal to play live and find an audience, and that's what i want, it's not even about making money, but reaching people and being heard. Anyway, thank you all for the answers.

>>129231763I used to do shows with a small wall of Peaveys, tape machines and a Sanyo entertainment system plus the pedals, guitar and stuff. My Akai AX60 only cost me $5 at a bazaar and I found a handmade electric travel bass from the 70s for $8 at the Goodwill outlet. It doesn't take much to cobble something together. The goal is just to have options, stay busy and ease past the fright with all sorts of gizmos available to keep the audience engaged. You could wear a costume, paint some decorations, anything. It's a show after all. I'd do an open mic out of town and just see what's up. Open mics on Halloween night are the best. Either way, thanks for sharing your music and helping to make coming here worthwhile.

>>129203361Ah thanks a ton - I always feel weird about my vocals, so I'm glad to hear mine aren't too shit lol>>129236707Thanks so much for saving. Really means a lot. I like your track too - always a fan of metal, and your instrumentation is solid. If you want some feedback, I'd say just try to make the mix a bit more raw and rough - maybe add some reverb/effects on drums, bring that backing guitar to the front so it feels more menacing, and take the vocals down a notch so they blend into the mix better. Good foundations though.>>129229910This is pretty cool - I really dig the looseness of the vocals and the drums are fucking sick. Only thing I don't dig too much is some of very midi sounding piano/strings, but maybe that's an intentional choice?
>>129255026>This is pretty cool - I really dig the looseness of the vocals and the drums are fucking sick. Only thing I don't dig too much is some of very midi sounding piano/strings, but maybe that's an intentional choice?>stringsListen to track 3 that's the one with live strings, even if they are pitched up they sound really good, truth be told it's actually all upright bass that is bowed by a friend of mine, but I pitched up some of the melodies to sound like cello and violin, and personally I like how trippy it sounds. If we had a cello player in the band on hand for all recordings, I'd have them play on songs all the time. But yeah the midi instruments have their appeal, the goal is to move away from using midi as much in the future. >vocalsThanks, not everyone appreciates how I sing but I quite like it admittedly. I really enjoy coming up with vocal melodies and figuring out how I want to sing them and I think my singing is pretty much always the driving force of the song give or take for better or worse. I enjoy not perfecting the performance and rather keep in the eccentricities of the take and double the vocals to get some variety going. So many singers are able to do "idealized" or perfect vocal takes and I just never bother. I like the weird things that happen when recording vocals and I think it adds character to the songs.
>>129255092continued>drumsYeah the drummer is a really insane progressive metal type that I met while living in Los Angeles. She is going to music school there and we were able to use her school's recording studio. When we recorded the tracks she's on I was shitting my pants the whole session thinking "what the hell are these songs going to sound like with these insane progressive rock drums...?" but loving every minute of it. We aren't in touch but she's a nice and creative person, cool that she's on the recordings but I really doubt the songs will ever be performed with that style of drums again unless I get a really advanced drummer in the band, which we don't technically require.
I am not sure I've ever heard a good musician in this thread, except DJ Rozwell once like 11 years ago or something when he used to shill here. The fact that the only good-sounding musician I've ever heard here happened to also be the only one here who later received some level of success/recognition makes me think music is pretty meritocratic after all.
>>129255092Yeah I love the upright bass on track 3. The pitched up bowed bass sounds cool - it's super distinct, like a cross between electronic and acoustic string. When it comes to midi stuff, I find that the more effects I layer on the sound, the more I can massage it into something that blends in. The track I posted here earlier has a bit of that. Also shout out to Seattle lol.>>129255210Alright tell me how much my track sucks: >>129200486
>>129255434If you are playing live shows this year let's book a show?
>>129251396Yes, the three note oddity has a lot to do with the project, since it's something I associate with someone, the album is full of little references to things I used to share with this person

>Cover>Art Rock>Post-Punkhttps://youtu.be/XBxtw5XShWEMade a quick cover one boring afternoon, feedback is more than welcome. Thank you & have a nice day
>>129236707>I like the instruments used here, reminds me of dungeon synth but this is more interesting, especially the percussion. Thanks.Since you want feedback, I can give you some about SynthV. The advice I can give is, spend more time on the tuning. Use more intensity to convey more power, and improve her pronounciation. For example, at 1:12, (I think that) she doesn't pronounce "voice" properly because the syllable is too short.I have reproduced the line in SynthV (screenshot). By changing the note offset and/or vowel duration, you can get her to pronounce a relatively longer vowel and sound better, while keeping the same music sheet.Great track anyway, I add it to my playlist.
I'm currently working on an album and I'm on track 6 of 10. I'm having some difficulty establishing a musical layer on top of the song and would love people's input because I can't get real feedback from my fluoride staring friends... huh?? *looks up from his phone* oh yeah that's really cool man I can hear this playing on the radio *goes back to staring on his phone*.I'm afraid of being doxxed though what if this song becomes famous ? :P Or worse yet stolen ?

bros, you know that feel when you spend 7 years making an album, releasing it, a few friends like it but that's it, but then 5 years later some random guy on RYM gives it a 5/5 nicely written review

>>129266665>grim tone but somehow addictiveJust like your mom's gapefartsGood stuff btw but why are you sharing a 7 year old song? Stop living in the past. Release more music on a faster timescale or give up. Stop overthinking. You got at random 5/5 on rym. That should motivate you into releasing more music more often. Your fears weren't warranted. Apparently YOU CAN make good music that people will like. So do it. Release.
