Uh oh
>>129266609even in thumbnail they dont look like a real band. singers too tall or something, like a model.
>>129266622GDS
>>129266609There's a big disconnect between what /mu/ and fagtano fans think is good music and what actually is, go outside and talk to real people about music, because no one likes this art rock shit
>>129266622AI is getting more and more powerful everyday.
>>129266634Does /mu/ actually like it or are there just shill threads from time to time? Also fagtano is 40, his opinions on modern music should always be discarded.
>>129266634>>129266663>Fagthony GaytanoLmao
>>129266609Model/Actriz is better
they're trying to cash in on the performative male but it's difficult because they are all, in fact, performing what they perform to be
Geese
>>129266634I live in Montreal, the pretentious artfag capital of Canada, and all of the performative hipster retards here love Geese.I think Geese are okay. The performance just sucked. It sounded very bad compared to the studio version. The timing was off and the drums and bass were not loud enough.
I'm not the biggest Geese fan but this is just a case of the audience not knowing what it ishttps://youtu.be/IVGklLKJv2c
>>129268492...what
I unironically love Geese and have been listening to them since Projector. I love how much they make /mu/tands and normalfags seethe. If Cameron Winter has 0 fans it means I'm dead
>>129268492
>>129270868I don't think so. I think it would have been better received if it had half the rhythm of the album version. It just sounded like a mess. The bass is the main hook during the verse and here it's mixed too quietly, so you just get the awful stabs of guitar with nothing to anchor them. Then in the second verse it gets even worse with Cameron aimlessly strumming which is again mixed way too loud. It sounds like a shitty cover band.
Maybe its just a rejection of the fact that Geese is the latest pitchfork band. They were probably saying the same things about the Arcade Fires and Animal Collectives at the time
>>129271119Normies dont know what Pitchfork thinks about anything, and these days music nerds don't care either.
>>129268492a simulacrum of a simulacrum, if you will
>>129271548Referencing Baudrillard (who you haven't) read because you saw someone else reference Baudrillard (who they haven't) read is also a perfomative simulacrum of a simulacrum

>>129271566chatgpt summarized the wikipedia page of the matrix movies for me
Cameron Winters lyrics kind of remind me of Tally Hall (in a good way), maybe that's why I like them so much. Hopefully Cameron doesn't wind up a homeless schizo like Joe Hawley did
>>129272204Nah man its for theatrics. Do you believe everything you read from the imitators of the real heroin addicts and schizo's?
>>129272263>Nah man its for theatrics.Shouldn't theatrics be in service to your career and not a detriment? Bro hasn't recorded anything or has been relevant in well over a decade at this point
>>129266609any link to the performance
>>129266634I talked to a boomer today who watched this on SNL and liked it enough to listen to their album
>>129274618Holy shit the link is literally 11 posts in, dumb fuck
>>129266634First off we dont like it, its shills and a few gullible zoomers. Second fagtano doesn’t represent us either. Lastly normalfags only listen to slop and by no means know what good music is. Popularity doesn’t indicate quality, especially when the average person is retarded cattle sheep who listen to what (((critics))) dictate is good.
LMAO Geese blows but so does SNL so fuck all yall queers
>>129274660>First off we dont like itI like Geese and Cameron's solo work and I'm not a zoomer or gullible
>>129266634It's also possible that they sound much better on the album. Plenty of bands have fucked up live performances. I wouldn't know, since I haven't listened to neither the album nor the SNL live performance.
>>129274948Then you have shitty taste and are probably stupid.
>>129274962I can't vouch for whether or not you'd like the album personally but I will say that as far as mixing goes the album is pretty good. Getting Killed was produced by Kenny Beats of all fucking people
>>129274970That means a lot coming from the arbiter of quality known as "Anonymous" on 4chan.org/mu/. Have you ever thought about starting a music review channel on Youtube?
>>129274962I've been saying this in every thread about the performance and getting 0 (you)s so I'll say it againI don't love Geese, I think they're just okay, but the SNL performance is a bad performance and the studio version of Trinidad is significantly better.
>>129274988Good advice. Since I don't like some untalented dumbass with a shitty voice, I could be a success.
>>129266634Loads of people love it, that's the thing. Same with Sleep Token.
>>129266634>real peopleNormies don't know jack shit about music. They listen to simple pop or even Ai trash now.
>>129275059Met some cutie (biologically female) at the local independent theatre who has impeccable taste in pretentious art films and she linked me her RYM and she gave all of Sleep Token's albums 5 starsHow does someone watch non-narrative experimental films and their favorite band is post-grunge with masks on
>>129267603I'm convinced you're on of the fags from this band at this point.
>>129266609the only band doing anything exciting are the happys from novato californiahttps://youtu.be/WRlAQyBr3jQ?si=2vAhPQCJgnNmrrBb
>>129275186Sleep Token is fucking far from post-grunge you dumb fuck. They're a RnB/Djent slop band with occasional harsh vocals. The fact that you can't hear the difference makes your opinion on music non-valid.
10+ years ago this band wouldn't have even been a blip on anyone's radarIt's never been so over
>>129275252Shut the fuck up retard if it sounds like loud 2000s guitar music I'll call it nu-metal or post grunge or whatever the fuck I want
>>129266609I don't know who the fuck geese are and only became aware of who they were through this snl thing. I finally gave it a listen and I can see why some people would find it dogshit. They sound like a mix of blues singing, indie, post hardcore, and artsy kind of rock that goes hand in hand with indie. They sound like they either are good at their instruments but deliberately play sloppy and crappy to give it some authenticity and make it sound artistic or they can barely play their instruments. The wee woo, wee woo, lick, the singer who almost hits the right note. He is belting out some random nonsense about a car bomb, fake blues singing. It wasn't the worst thing I have ever listened to or seen, but I can see why others would be confused by all these elements coming together and it sounding like garbage. Personally it reminds me of post hardcore but with more indie and art rock influence. I wouldn't choose to listen to it or claim it is the best thing ever but it was a 6 to a 4 for me. Not the worst but either alright or below average
>>129275496Going to say for the third time in this thread that all of the sloppiness of the SNL performance is not present on the studio version of Trinidad, which has a prominent bassline and strong rhythm anchoring the guitars in the verses
>>129275521I'm listening to it right now. Yes, it is different but what came out in the performance is not what was in the studio. They gave more noise in the chorus, it sounded very post hardcore. The song itself isn't bad, I think it is good, I would listen to it again, but the performance didn't show them at their best. Even if the music itself is good and trying something different, the live performance wasn't as good as it could have been. Some times people have bad performances or bad moments on stage even if the majority of the time they are good
>>129275521when someone competent pretends to play sloppily it sounds awesomely hilarious, geese is just mid and dont have what it takes to pull off drunken playinghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3_rsg2yvkw
Well that's not a song for the SNL, but I suppose that was the point, playing what was inappropriate just for shits'n'giggles
>>129275893It's the lead single and most popular song off of the album
>>129275899>lead singleTaxes
>>129275899>most popular song off of the albumNot for me

>>129275059Sleep Token are 10x bigger than them and they're not even in the Spotify 200 right now
>>129266609Being deemed as the x of all time is still a great publicity stunt. Being that bad benefits them from being odd and awkward (therefore counter-cultural and rebelious) enough for a prime time tv show, you're just too naive.
