Does this album give anyone else intense occult vibes?
Pretty much all of BÖC output has some occult (half-assed tho) connotations, but mostly the first 3 albums. The band manager at the time wrote a chaotic mess of a story about ancient aliens, esoteric nazis and lovecraftian entities, wrote lyrics based on it and had the band perform it.I say half-assed because the full story is incomprehensible if you only listen to the albums. They tried to make a legit concept album out of it with Imaginos but it's mostly a botched effort that's not even really BÖC.Other than the Imaginos saga, yeah, they liked writing about vampires, SF and fantasy stuff.
>>129274958Their symbol was scythe of Saturn, so yeah, there's a lot of esoteric shit in their early albums. I tend to prefer their 80s stuff which is a bit more down-to-earth.
>>129274958shooting shark is the best song these old niggers put out
>>129274958It's both their most commercially successful and the eeriest.
never listened to the full album. is there a reason why rym trannies don't acknowledge them?
>>129274958>this albumtheir usage of occult symbolism leaves Jimmy Page to shame
>>129274958Judas Priest's "Rapid Fire" blatantly stole the "This Ain't The Summer of Love" riff.
>>129274958So what's their message? What's behind the occult symbolism?
>>129274958The debut is has a way eerier style and Secret Treaties is more explicitly occult.
>>129280322TATSOL had a very forward-sounding riff for 76 that presaged NWOBM enough for Priest to nick it a few years later but on the next album they have "Godzilla" and a by-the-book 70s boogie riff.
