Why does None So Vile get all the attention when this is the better album?

None So Vile is Cryptopsy's most influential record by far. Blasphemy Made Flesh is good too but it's not as solid. Flo's drumming and syncopation reached another level on NSV and even Lord Worm has put more thought into his vocals. BMF is the blueprint and NSV is the refined culmination of their sound.

They're both great but I do prefer the debut. The vocals on this one are are absolutely inhuman and the entire album sounds disgusting in the way real death metal should. NSV is a lot more refined and is rightly heralded as a classic, but lacks the raw savagery of tracks like Born Headless or Open Face Surgery.

My thoughts exactly. I also find it catchier overall than NSV.

Defenestration is still my favorite Cryptopsy song. Such a savage opening
