You could, perhaps, make the argument that trap music's creative bankruptcy wasn't due to stagnation but because most of its top names wanted to constantly reinvent the wheel. NBA YoungBoy has an almost autistic adherence to trap's core sound. As the above anon said, it's compelling in how mediocre it is.
