Ive got 20K+ songs in my library and Sister Ray is top 20 for sure, I grew to slowly prefer the third album overall but the chaotic distortion of WL/WH is still something else

>>129280998It's in desperate need of a remaster that it will never get because too many of the people who like this band insist on its flaws being part of its perfection, even in instances where they actually do in fact ruin it. This is one of the weakest sounding albums I have ever heard. There is no power in the way this album sounds. The drums sound like someone tapping on a sheet of paper with their fingers. These songs call for a powerful, impenetrable sound, and it just doesn't have that. It sounds weak and flimsy, like something you could pole a hole through with your pinky.
>>129283659I'm convinced that people love it because of the fact that it's seventeen minutes long. There's no reason it needed to be that long. I'm Waiting For My Man is a better song, and that's not the best Velvet Underground song by far. Lou Reed was trying to one up the up and coming progressive rock bands in England as well as the Grateful Dead but it just reminds me of a kid snapping a skateboard in half on his leg when he can't do a certain trick. It's only weak track on the album.
