Megadeth get their first #1 album, though it's the least-streamed #1 album since 2019 (Celine Dion)
>>
some will interpret this as megadeth being above all this pop garbage, i think it belongs

Good to see Mustaine get a number 1, he deserves the win.

>>129286268
goddamn that sza album is still holding on
>>
>>129286268
The album charts became irrelevant when they invented "stream equivalent albums"
>>
>>129288732
it's almost as if people stopped buying albums like 20 years ago
>>
>>129288804
It doesn't matter. The Hot 100 exists for song rankings, the album chart exists for album rankings. Using song plays on the album charts reduces the album charts to poptimist propoganda
>>
>>129288864
why do you think people were buying albums? the covers?

Metallica - 72 Seasons 134k
Ghost - Skeleta 77k
Sleep Token - Even In Arcadia 74k
Linkin Park - From Zero 72k
Deftones - Private Music 66k

Here’s pure sales, Megadeth had no competition.
Why did people stop buying physical albums?

welcome to the 21st century anon
>>
>>129289038
No, for the vast majority of artists the release of a hits compilation would make people stop buying their albums, music has always been about songs for normies. Also streaming charts are actually more representative of album listening (see Taylor Swift) since back then people would only hear the singles on the radio/tv.

>streaming
lol stupid z(b)oomer
>>
Well deaeeved
>>
>>129290013
In general, people who're into metal and hard rock likes physical media. And they continue to be fans of the bands unless the bands do a complete 180 and starts playing different kind of music.

Normies who only consume music on the radio and spotify top 50 lists just jump from song to song without any thought.
