It's weird how some 1969 hits still have that "mid-century" sound (if you know what I mean) but 1970 hits immediately sound late-century.

my 1923 model grandfather was a session musician in the 50s-60s, he retired from the business in 68. he said the music industry is super competitive (especially true in that era) and really tough, you have to be listening to new releases constantly to keep up and not fall behind.
