I had listened to Kyoto a while ago, and even though I really liked it that was it, I wasn't really inspired to check out the whole thing until someone played the last song at my cousin's house a week ago. The scream at the end really caught my attention.I'm not as fond of most of the songs on the album, but I was wondering what does /mu/ think about it.
>>129289517I hate this fucking bitch. Total libtard death.
>>129289538ok. but what's your opinion of her music-wise?
>>129289517>>129289551Meh. I don't like her voice, her music bores me and her face is perennially smug. My darling collaborated with her twice.
I want to see this bitch get destroyed by the biggest bbc on earth
kyoto's lyrics:Day off in KyotoGot bored at the templeLooked around at the 7-ElevenThe band took the speed trainWent to the arcadeI wanted to go, but I didn'tYou called me from a payphoneThey still got payphonesIt cost a dollar a minuteTo tell me you're getting soberAnd you wrote me a letterBut I don't have to read itI'm gonna kill youIf you don't beat me to itDreaming through Tokyo skiesI wanted to see the worldThen I flew over the oceanAnd I changed my mind (woo)Sunset's been a freak showOn the weekend, soI've been driving out to the suburbsTo park at the GoodwillAnd stare at the chemtrailsWith my little brotherHe said you called on his birthdayYou were off by like ten daysBut you get a few points for tryin'Remember getting the truck fixedWhen you let us drive itTwenty-five felt like flyingI don't forgive youBut please don't hold me to itBorn under Scorpio skiesI wanted to see the worldThrough your eyes until it happenedThen I changed my mindGuess I liedI'm a liarWho lies'Cause I'm a liar
She seems profoundly unlikeable but I quite like this album

I really love Garden Song. Her best and most beautiful song by far. Kyoto is pretty good. Otherwise the album is just ok. The last track sucks I don't get why people think it's a highlight.

>>129289517I spent a good amount of time with it last year after only touching it a little when it came out.I like it more these days. The production is pretty nice, spacey in a way that really helps her songs along. As far as tunes, I'd agree with >>129290898 that Garden Song is really good. Probably her best vocal on the record. Personally, I think Moon Song is my favorite. The melody is great, I like the simple, open c# finger picking she's doing on it and the bridge is just superb. "You're holding me like water in your hands," is a lyric that's stuck with me for years now. Honorable mention to Graceland Too, the harmonies are really pretty. That said, I thank you can drop a lot of it. I'd cut Halloween, Punisher, and ICU.For me, a 7/10 but one that hits really hard when it clicks.

It's fine but I haven't felt like revisiting it since 2021. It proved to be massively overrated but it's still fine.
