How long were they supposed to be carpetbombed on radio around the clock? The leading member of the band has been dead for 13 years, and they were already in legacy mode for a while.
99.9%of music is forgotten after a year or two, Beastie Boys had an excellent run and are still in the history books and getting plenty of plays on spotify for those who still care.
