Pistols felt genuine while them Clash bois was just popmusic in punkish feels. They have a few good songs tho, but nothing like NMTB. That album is still all bangers

Their later stuff is more pop rock and fits that description. It is a post punk album but isnt a post punk album at the same time. They're going beyond punk while not a straight up post punk band or post punk album.

The Clash branched out, like with Sandinista. Combat Rock has some bangers. Pistols did one album of punk. maybe if there wasn't such a media shitstorm they would have survived and tried other stuff and not just be a one album, one style band. At the end of the day, I like both and don't see it as an either/or situation.
