Really let down by the low-quality recording. Producing psychedelic pop as if it's goth-punk just makes it fall flat.

The Banshees are such a weird thing for me. Adore Tinderbox and Juju, enjoy The Scream and Join Hands, but then there's the rest. Maybe 3 or 4 good songs per album on the others, sometimes less. I respect the ambition but the psych pop stuff just never landed for me. I won't say there's any complete whiffs though, all the albums have at least something worth coming back to. Very few are great front-to-back though.

Their only great absolute masterpiece is The Scream. Everything else is good, but just not as good.
