Here’s some vocaroos of the JHS Morning Glory Clean. So far, my favorite transparent overdrive. Beats the OD-3 and the Benson Preamp which I consider to be those at the top of the game for low gain clean tones

This Mustang is the lightest guitar I own, 6.7 lbs. It’s basswood, my other Mustang and MIJ Jag are alder but still pretty light but heavy when switching from this guitar.

I'm a V guy so the V gets my vote. The X looks unique though it looks a little too elongated for my taste. Either way can work with a single pickup though.

Kenny Hickey's tone is amazing

>>
>>129341602
The OD-3 will always be the tried and true gain pedal. That said, I think the MG Clean sounds way better as an always-on transparent overdrive that you push every other gain into. It is just much more alive and responsive. Kind of sounds like a slightly broken up Vox AC30, that signature jangle. Personally, I like using the OD-3 as a boost since it’s a very balanced EQ and it doesn’t cut any frequencies out.

He probably has a trust fund, but also, simply having a collection of expensive things can not only be an investment towards building a real portfolio and further said collection, but it also is useful for having collateral for low interest loans, which again, can be invested towards buying and trading things further. It's basically how a Pawn Shop operates except he doesn't have to deal with the same lot taxes since he can work from home.

Nobody is buying from you because you don't have a youtube channel to shill your wares to. It's unfortunate but it's the truth. The people he's selling guitars to are likely not even musicians, they're just rich people that are in the business of buying and flipping high value items themselves. The same kinds of people who collect $100,000 watches or million dollar Jackson Pollock paintings.

I can finally do the Shawn lane sweeps thanks to the 9s. Tapping feels like as gentle as lesbian foreplay. The action actually settles perfect on an admittedly shit guitar.

Here’s some chromatic shit and sweeps:

https://voca.ro/1beCtUh3cNiR

The only complaint is that harmonics are a little dicey. Unless I’m playing in high gain settings, the low action can buzz out some wide natty harmonics.

Strats, Les Pauls etc are great guitars don't get me wrong, but lots of the music made on them has been misogynistic, racist and downright ignorant. let's clean the slate. yamaha makes the Pacifica if you're a strat guy. if you prefer slingin' a dual humbucking axe like a Les Paul, check out the Revstar. Weed has gotten to be so potent that it’s essentially narcotic at this point. So potent that it’s breaking peoples brain chemistry if they’ve been smoking since childhood, it fries their receptors and that cannabis hyperemesis syndrome is becoming more and more common (scromiting). Potheads beware, it happened to me and I can never smoke weed again. Funny though, my toan increased fivefold when I stopped smoking weed. So my sister in law's are both very good musicians and so is my girl, in fact, that whole side of the family are very music-centric and very good. I, however, gave up saxophone, guitar, and piano decades ago in favour of video games and porn like a faggot. Now, I wish I could relearn to read music and play the guitar again. Would getting a cheap shit beginner guitar be worth it for learning how to play again? Id love to join the family with something I can play instead of sitting and listening to them

Jump right in at the intermediate range if you're doing well enough in life. Something like a 4-500usd guitar
If you played before, it should come back no problem. There are a lot better tutorial videos out there to learn from better than most music teachers people had.
>Now, I wish I could relearn to read music and play the guitar again
Learning to read music isn't that especially useful for guitar beyond sight reading melodies.

As the other anon said, some single note instrument or percussion would be easier to get into and has a lot of depth. Frame drums (tambourine/pandeiro/riq), bongos, cajon, darbuka, djembe, various other things.

this is a great idea because it completely shortcuts all the homework you'll have to do to not be a burden to the jam. right away you can get a feel and express yourself and vibe with everyone. and real musicians (especially your family) aren't going to be like "take a look at this guy on the tambourine, he thinks he's a real musician". bonus points, you put your ego in check which is healthy for everyone especially guitar players

I use a 20-hr system towards mastery, taking practice intervals as low as 7.5 minutes to catalogue conscious practice. That’s ten months worth of practice, and it’s viable what I’m prioritizing.
>>
>>129352733
You do all of this?
Are you any good?
I've done exactly none of this.
>>
>>129352733
Interesting. I use a habit tracking system that looks kind of like that but on a weekly basis. I can see how having a more zoomed out approach could be useful in the longer term. 7ish minutes is a good amount of time for difficult things, as the diminishing returns seem to kick in quickly. Shorter sessions but more often seems way more efficient. Like 3 sessions of five minutes spread throughout the day is better than 15 at once. So I split my practice into blocks with a list of items to work on.
I'm curious about your 20-hr system. Please elaborate if you would, I love this kind of shit. Developing and improving a system is so much fun.

The general idea is that once you do something for 20 hours, you can at least say you have the basic mechanics and beginning repertoire at your fingertips. After that, you can go through the intermediate stages for another 20 hours. so on and so forth. It scales endlessly, and you can do 20 hours real book voicings, for example.

I also follow the idea of adjacent skill sets. Scott Adams talks about this, but I’ve managed to use my programming skills to automate macros. These same macros are now set up for Ableton. And when I get that shit sorted out, then it’s time learn more about blah blah blah. The greater the Venn diagrams overlap, the more simultaneous practice you can achieve. It’s also nice to rip banjo rolls on guitar.

This approach enables me to work from home and still get skills in procuring arthoes.

In my youth, I tried the 8-hour-a-day regimen but diminishing returns for sure. I do miss drowning in sweat while transcribing “Rust in Peace”, but I found virtuosity starts to impose too many limits (on getting my dick sucked for starters). Better to have banjo skills and Bartok under my fingers when it comes to sweet sweet art school grad students.
