I remember hearing this when it came out. It's definitely Deafheaven inspired, but in a J-rock/anime OP style, which frankly is a style i don't really care for, but I still think it's good despite that. I'll give the album another listen, I just don't love the Japanese music tropes.

Not sure if it was the intended purpose but having the song turn into an instrumental for five minutes to allude to the singer wasting time and doing nothing at all was a really nice touch.

That guitar intro really is pretty. Reminds me of something along the lines of a Siouxsie song before it settles into more of a sing-song structure akin to more of a neoclassical dark wave style.
>bridge and most of what comes after
Ugh, I hate that very 00s style with the tinny drums and "big" midtempo guitars pushed forward into the mix. Accordion is a nice touch though, I'm always bothered you don't hear more of that in goth-influenced stuff given Nico's Marble Index made such extensive use of that instrument to create a truly cold, unnerving atmosphere that felt truly 19th century.
Anyway, yeah not a fan of that one.

Not bad, not very memorable either. I dunno if it's worth the almost 10 minutes of music, wish there was some melodic hook to it. And I hate to say that since I'm not even really a pop head but maybe this just isn't the type of stuff I "get". But I didn't feel the urge to turn it off during the whole listen so I guess that's a plus

I kinda changed my mind it's really not a bad track at all, and obviously it does have melody although it isn't an earworm type of thing. I guess I just usually don't listen to this style of stuff so first listen is a little bit off for me. definitely more of a vibey track than anything which is maybe what is to be expected from the genre/artist i dunno
