Look, I hate Chaim Witz as much as the next person with taste, *and* I like rap, but he's on the money with this. Putting rappers in the rock hall was from the beginning nothing more than a shameless publicity grab to compensate for the genres decline in popularity. A decline accelerated by institutions like the RnRHoF inducting already-super-famous rappers who have nothing to do with rock into the hall rather than people who actually play rock and roll.And it's one thing to indict actual rap-rockers like Run DMC or The Beastie Boys, but there's no reason Tupac or Biggie or Jay-Z should be in the hall aside from shameless publicity whoring.
