How does one learn to sing, alone, at home?

Somewhere along the way I became a decent singer. I went to karaoke over the holidays and got treated like a rock star for singing Brain Stew and I Write Sins not Trgjedies.

I feel like phrasing is undervalued, if you have really good phrasing your voice doesn't have to be pitch perfect
