Do people really need a tutorial to download mp3s?
Letting the algorithm choose what you listen to isn't a problem with streaming. You are just too lazy to curate your own musical taste.
>>
>>129435598
People need tutorials on how to navigate to a specific folder on their computer m8
>>
>go back to iPods
Should have bought a phone with expandable storage.
>>
>>129435598
Most zoomers have only used a desktop computer at school, they have no idea how to install or use software
>>
>>129435598
these things aren't intuitive if you didn't grow up using them. some zoomers have only used phones and it's not their fault.
>>
>>129435598
You can use both. Why limit yourself
>>
That's great and all but why not mention that your phone is a fucking ipod? You don't need to buy a 20 year old ipod off ebay to "get into the hobby of collecting music."
>>
>>129435598
man i'm a few weeks ahead of the curve for most things nowadays.
this is very worrying because i'm retarded so it means the world is getting stupider, to the point that it's stupider than me.
>>
whats a good music player for android
vlc is such ass as far as how it attempts to organize music

musicolet has one of the best uis
>>
>>129436116
oh yeah and how do i get "bit perfect" audio on android or whatever or does that even matter with bluetooth. although my bluetooth headphones can use some LDAC codec thing or whatever which is higher quality than regular
>>
>>129436110
Nice virus!!! Now how do i get it off my computer???
>>
>>129436142
doesn’t matter. the difference between raw .wav or .flac and high bitrate mp3 or ogg or whatever is minute compared to the fidelity loss on Bluetooth and from listening in a noisy outdoor/public environment anyway.
a good quality lossy file and musicolet or foobar into your headphones or earbuds of choice is fine for use on a phone on the go
lossless audio and all that is for archiving and playback at home on a good system
>>
>>129436084
I use Auxio

Its not a virus tho are you retarded those are websites where u put a YT link and it just downloads the audio. Nice try tho. Ur trolling doesnt work.

I kept my music iPod long after the age of the iPhone, the increasing space requirements for programs as well as the OS itself just make having a much physically smaller dedicated music device ideal for my needs.

I haven't downloaded an mp3 for over a decade now just because streaming takes less effort, but I appreciate PirateChads for keeping music free
>>
You guys dont need any fancy music player, just a command to play music

simply make a script that picks random music from a folder and play it in random order
then add hotkey to skip to next music or go back to previous song

you can do everything with mpv and simple shell scripts.
done

>but i am dumb
I am pretty sure a chabot can do this for you

also stop using mp3 files
use the opus codec instead, its far more efficient

>>129436110
just do yt-dlp --extract-audio $URL
>>
>>129437127
also btw you can do this on android with termux

Rockbox on an ipod classic is pretty sweet, I can't lie. I bought one at a garage sale this year after losing my last one around 2011
>>
>>129436110
Man I used the shit out of these sites back in the day
>>
>>129436934
My current up to date phone has almost 100gbs less storage than an ipod classic from 20 years ago. That’s just insane.
>>
>everyone has a big orange brick pos phone with 800 bazillion gigs storage for no reason
>fill that shit up with bank apps and instagram pictures of food from Chili's
>zero space for anything else
>forced to stream the poop scoopin booger boy tung tung sahur playlist off Pandora or something which is 30-40% Drake and other filler shit they get paid by labels to squeeze in there
>their solution is buying ipods off ebay and filling them up with youtube rips of tiktok songs

holy fuck
goyim

>on a family plan it literally costs less than a coffee every month for unlimited access to the vast majority of music that ever existed available to download offline in lossless quality available on virtually every device that can connect to the internet

>never log into youtube
>never use spotify
>only offline audio players
>get music recs only from friends and forums
>have over 4,000 albums downloaded
>all properly tagged
>never download from youtube (shit quality)
>slowly replacing old mp3 albums with flac
Feels good, man.

>a script that picks random music from a folder and play it in random order
do ppl really
I cant imagine a shitter way to listen music
>>
>>129440440
This is basically what everybody did in the late 2000s.
>>
>>129435598
I use mostly bandcamp for new releases and mostly youtube and sometimes spotify for old music. I have spotify but i don't pay for it, my cousin had an extra spot on his family plan so he just gave it to me.
>>
>>129440456
It works if you properly tag genres. You can basically generate your own personal radio station of whatever genre you're feeling like at the time. And if you're enough of an autist you could even add an LLM to speak some info about the songs between tracks, which isn't actually that hard to do if you're not computer illiterate.
>>
>>129440473
Sure it "works" and even though I’m utter shite at coding I could do it because its about as simple as it gets, I just don’t want to listen to music that way. I hate random play. And having an AI witter at me between tracks is the kind of thing that makes me want to set my computer on fire and go live in a cave.
I pick an album I want to listen to and put it on.
>>
What I hate most about this pmp revival is that it makes a lot of zoomers seem retarded. I know damn well they’re aware ipods are like bottom of the barrel DAPs compared to what’s available now. I’ve been using high end DAPs since the 2010s.

I'm a LinuxChad and I have to say that this is an extremely autistic and pointless way to listen to music in a world where actual music players exist. Just because the terminal is there doesn't mean everything is better with it, many things are, but listening to music isn't one of them
>>
>>129440561
>it makes a lot of zoomers seem retarded
doesnt take much, their grasp of tech beyond mobile apps is pretty much non-existent
>>
The best part about Parabolic isn't that it rips music and videos off Youtube, but that it works on random porn sites too lmao
>>
>>129435598
does it matter?
i think what really matters here is that there's a growing number of people that don't want to stream and pay subscriptions anymore.
it's a great thing
>>
>>129441205
Except 99% of them are downloading dogshit-quality audio from youtube videos, which in turn were sourced from 128 kbps mp3s.
>>
>>129441277
sure, but i think it would be better to encourage these people in the right direction of something like soulseek, rather than shit on them for dl'ing youtube videos
