It's not at all far fetched to claim that many members of the metal community hold white supremacist views, and thus uphold 'white supremacy' as a belief through metal, effectively acting as gatekeepers to the genre's credo. I did say 'many' and not 'all', but I will claim that those who hold white supremacist beliefs are sufficient in number and influence that they do keep metal 'pure' and 'white'.
