At what age did you grow out of genre tourism?
>>
I'll never stop visiting new and exciting genres and listening to the best/most obvious features from each one.

what does that mean? being a /mu/ newfag that just reads the charts? or listening to a lot of "experimental" music? Because the latter is cool, sometimes.
>>
will you be posting jaks well into your 40s anon?
>>
>>129437620
he will, but by then it will be seen the way we see middle aged women that post minions on facebook.
and also those ugly ass facebook avatars.
>>
I've come all the way back to it as an adult who wants to expand their horizons instead of being a boring retread
>>
>>129437586
I'm a genre colonizer albeit
>>
>>129437726
albeit more fried

listening a little bit to a lot of genres. "tourist" is pejorative the same way it is in real life- the implication is that it's listening to a genre to tick a box rather than listening for musical enrichment or genuine curiosity. so closer to the former definition you gave, hence op's pic
>>
>>129437750
evenbe that as it may not withstanding
>>
>>129437643
it's like that now. I see it that way now.
>>
>>129437586
I'm a proud rap tourist.

I'm a rock guy.

Kanye is the only rapper.

At what age did you grow out of caring about other people's music taste?

The top albums of every genre are the only albums worth listening to
Most music sucks
>>
>>129437586
Never and now I have a deep understanding of half dozen genres at least and it keeps expanding daily

>>129437586
> Genre tourism
> Most of op's pic is the same 3 genres
> Multiple albums by the same artists
Whatever genre tourism implies, it would still be better than this.

Agreed, based.

>listening a little bit to a lot of genres
except because this is the only sensible way to listen to music. genre is a surface level aesthetic that has no bearing on whether the music itself has any quality or not. sure, you can enjoy certain aesthetics more than others, you wouldn’t be human if you didn’t, but if that’s all you’re hearing in music you’re not really listening to it.

btw the albums in OPs pic are mid at best and most of them are shit.
>>
>>129437586
Never really. I've grown more into prioritising certain genres, sure, but I will on occasion rediscover the genre tourism urge.
