Every hit song in the '90s was absolute trash apart from Livin' la Vida Loca by Ricky Martin.

Bryan Adams - Everything I Do I Do It for You
Meatloaf - I'd Do Anything for Love But I Won't Do That
Sealion Dion - My Heart Will Go On

not only because they were absolute fucking dogshit but because there was no escape they stayed in the charts literally for ever and every time you turned on the radio or tv or went in a shop you’d hear them like you’d put in earplugs and hibernate for a year and then you'd finally wake up and peek out of your front door and fearfully loosen one earplug and you'd instantly be fucking hearing one of them coming from somewhere

WHO LET THE DOGS OUT

Maybe not the very worst song from a songwriting perspective, but one of the most annoying was One Sweet Day, an overcooked soppy ballad that got way too much airplay back then.

And in a similar vein, Bette Midler's 'From a Distance.'
