plenty of white guys do, but not zoomers.
>>
Guys like this were a minority even back then

no they weren't.

no.

how did you think of faggots when it's a girl telling you who's she into?

maybe she likes faggots?

It won't happen in a world with Hip-Hop in it.
>>
>>129460558
It happened plenty before. They coexisted. Especially when whites had some say so in their own cultures/subcultures and kids had their own scenes.
There's a cutoff point around the 2010s and it was deliberate. People just do whatever jews tell them to now. Completely.
>>
>>129460468
Because foids are faggots who like faggots.
>>
>>129460395
Zoomers do. Who do you think was playing rock band and listening to Avenged Sevenfold back in the day. A lot of normal zoomers even have playlists that are more than 50 percent rock. Its not our fault, I might not even blame the millenials. I genuinely think there's some kind of conspiracy by the record labels to destroy rock music, and demoralize the population
>>

go to shows and you'll find them

Rock music often leans towards anti-capitalist thoughts with themes of rebellion and taking back power, partying and romance
Hip-hop largely glamorises wealth, betrayal, crime and promotes fighting within its own bubble
One of these populations is much easier to placate than the other

Ok still a faggot though.

nickelback sucks
>>
>>129461588
this. if rock didn't stop expanding and didn't become braindead shitty bands like Nickelback and Limp Bizkit there wouldn't be a problem with getting white people to listen to rock again.

for as bad as Nickelback was they were inevitable because the talent pool that existed in the 60s-70s just wasn't there anymore. this was not solely a rock issue but affected all music formats. it is why rap just samples black music of the 60s-70s because no younger guys who could do what those groups did.
>>
>>129460372
riffless queers ain't white
>>
>>129461652
whereas even with 50s housewife pop they could play/arrange/write melodies in a way that they were totally not capable of doing by the 2000s
>>
>>129461652
What people don't talk about is the government (US & UK) used to fund musical talent in the 60s and 70s but reaganism-thatcherism gutted that.
>>
>>129461652
that was because people stopped listening to jazz and classical so the ability to play and arrange was lost over time. just about all 60s pop derives from jazz or classical.

At this point in my life if I see a picture or video of a beautiful woman my day is ruined.

I see a goo goo dolls album with tyler the creator

I should quit my retarded tech job and guitar max and join a band in 3 years, but sunk cost fallacy. Very close to making real money.

>>129462501
Rock is so basic its something people listened to because there was nothing else readily available

White male consumers are too savvy and eclectic to be efficiently pandered to so the money went elsewhere
>>
There will never be a white male Chappell Roan
>>
I didn't even know The Goo Goo Dolls were considered an actual rock band, so I guess that qualifies Coldplay
>>
>>129461544
Remember when the backlash against Justin Beiber killed pop music? Neither do I.
What really killes rock as a genre was the big labels pushing non-rock bands onto rock audiences. People used to complain about how industrial and electronica was a bad influence on rock music in the '90s, but that was nowhere near as bad as what Coldplay did to sink the genre when they were successfully marketed as an alternative band. Fast-forward to the rise of bands like Mumford & Sons and Lumineers getting pushed on rock audiences followed by bands like Twenty-One Pilots and Imagine Dragons, and it's no fucking wonder why a band like Greta Van Fleet felt like a novelty act by the time they came along. (If GVF came up in the '90s, they would've been told by the label to sound a little less like a direct LedZepp rip-off and probably would have occupied the same space as the Black Crows, where they would appeal directly to boomers who "didn't get grunge")

>I didn't even know The Goo Goo Dolls were considered an actual rock band, so I guess that qualifies Coldplay
Goo Goo Dolls started off as a legitimate rock band who were heavily inspired by the Replacements and late-era Hüsker Dü. Then they scored a huge hit with the song Name on the album A Boy Named Goo, and their following album saw them pivot all their hitmaking abilities to writing music for suburban women and girls. They phased out of being marketed as an alt-rock band right before Coldplay fillies in the same space here in North America. In my post here >>129462856 I probably could have made a point of how the song Iris gave way to Coldplay because of how the Goo Goo Dolls bridged the gap between soft-rock and alt-rock, though at the time it felt like music made for grown-ups whereas Coldplay was actively marketed to teens just like Nirvana was a decade prior. That difference in taget audiences is far more significant than I know how to describe.
>>
>>129460372
Any rock/metal festival in Europe is 40-80 thousand white people.
>>
>>129462856
We had GVF before GVF. They were called Wolfmother.
>>
>>129460372
Men just like whatever will best help them get laid and be liked. There are tons of zoomers who play in bands in the UK and there are tons of gigs of skinny white guys whining into a microphone. All the girls who go to these shows though aren't wearing short skirts, they aren't waving their arse around and they certainly aren't looking to fuck so most men, consciously or subconsciously, will go where the music gets the girls sweaty and horny because that is really what music is all about.
>>
>>129463040
True, but Wolfmother came up at a time when rock music was still relevant so they less of a novelty. I wasn't a fan so I only heard one or two of their songs, and to me they sounded like "What if early White Stripes had arena-rock aspirations?"
>>
>>129460414
Not really. We all had little retard ad hoc bands.
>>
>>129462746
Also a lot of men are listening to podcasts instead of music due to Soul deficiency

Rock music is fun and exciting to play and that's the feeling good rock music conveys. If you're a young troon who spent their entire life online, that's probably beyond your grasp.

i was in high school in the suburbs when blink and emo were popular and yes they were. there were a few kids that got into guitar but no one formed a band or anything and even those kids were like 1 out of 200

qrd?

>>129462691
Many such cases. I predict programmers in their 30s are going to be the next wave of rock.

>i was in high school in the suburbs when blink and emo were popular and yes they were. there were a few kids that got into guitar but no one formed a band or anything and

no shit man, those bands sucked ass and had no guitar licks of any note. tf is there to learn from Blink 182?
>>
>>129464706
its the era OP is referencing
>>
>>129464711
That was his point? The bands from that time were so limited and shitty that they weren't going to inspire anyone to pick up a guitar.
>>
>>129464753

amateur high school pop punk bands used to be a fucking blight
>>
I find it fascinating how nu metal nostalgia has utterly eclipsed the memory of punk's massive popularity from like 1995-2005
>>
>>129464706
nobody anywhere thought Creed or Blink 182 were equal to any 60s-70s bands.
>>
>>129464865
assuming you mean pop punk, the audience for that was mostly girls is why nobody cares about it anymore

Remember that Time Machine Modulus wasn't even that long ago. Now imagine a high school band with this level of talent and originality in the post covid/tiktok era...
