the great debate
>>
oblivion never annoys you. morrowind has too few tracks but Peaceful Waters, Road Most Travelled and Blessing of Vivec peak higher than all of Oblivion. I hate the Skyrim's battle music and some of the city music but I like Secunda and Gathering Storm which are the rest of my top 5.

Morrowind intro mogs all.
>>
1. Secunda
2. Watchman's Ease
3. Road Most Travelled
4. Peaceful Waters
5. Dusk At The Market

Morrowind wins but there's not enough tracks for the game's duration.
Also this

>blare the main theme randomly while exploring
>no distinction between town/wildnerness/dungeon settings
>like 5 tracks
>but all are god-tier
Morrowind is lucky I'm so nostalgic because by any objective standard its OST is ass for what would fit a hundred+ hour open RPG.
Overall Oblivion wins.

TES6 will be terrible for many reasons , especially its music , but I think they should solve this by playing no music 90% of the time. + 2 hours of extra ambience. Make those bigger compositions rare in the gameplay.
>>
>>129460737
don't they have mostly the same music?
anyway TES isn't even the composer's best work.

you would be shocked at the % of people on this website over the age of 30 who has spent atleast 500 hours playing morrowind
>>
>>129460737
Morrowind because it has the most content and mechanics that gets dulled down in the next two installments, however whenever I watch LOTR I want to play Oblivion because there was an inspiration there clearly, and if I want the fantasy viking game I play Skyrim despite it having barely any features compared to Morrowind.

Secunda makes me feel a certain way that's hard to describe.

Morrowind's is too short, Oblivion's lacks variety, Skyrim's is the true epic

It will be better than GTA 6 at least.

modded morrowind is shit because it removes the fog and you realize you can basically see caldera from vivec.
oblivion is ok, but it starts you off in a city and the first quests involve a fucking sewer. are you fucking kidding me, turned that shit off
skyrim is like 14 year old, and it shows

So? Vvardenfell is about the same size as TesIV’s Cyrodiil. The later games shrunk the scale immensely.

I know he became a pariah overnight, but cmon you would still want to compose music even if it's outside of the soundtrack world

The raw size of the last 3 games are similar but Oblivion was a big open field with the content actually spread out evenly; it would take a while to traverse manually between any two cities, while in Morrowind most of the inland area is a clump of mountains and volcanos with just ashlander camps and dungeons dotting a massive no man's land.

As a result, almost all the major content is around the coast in a rough ring shape and even then a lot of it is concentrated in a small fraction of the map along this strip across bottom left quadrant, which includes the starting village and three of the four major cities, which is a pretty surreal (in a bad way) and illusion-shattering thing to notice when you turn the view distance up.

>>129469113
Looks fine when viewed with the whole mainland province. Vvardenfell is supposed to be mostly volcano.

He wont get hire that's for sure, but he could still try to release music through his site or somewhere on the internet. Extremely underwhelming how he just gave up
>>
>>129460737
I miss Jeremy Soule bros. I know he was allegedly a creep but Harry Potter on Playstation was my jam when I was 6.
OT: Skyrim. Oblivion is the most nistalgic for me but Skyrim's soundtrack it probably the best example of music completely elevating the experience on a game. The exploration wouldn't have spent 200 hours of my first playthrough just walking if the music wasn't so good.
