zoomers are dead inside from over saturation of media

they can't comprehend art that isn't immediately hitting them with instant gratification, anything that is even slightly off kilter or weird is too much and their brains break.

weird albums i kinda get by repeated listen but still didn't get this one
>>

ive also noticed that they have an inability to appreciate music from prior generations. When I picked up The Idiot on cd it was already 30 years old but i loved it nonetheless

zoomer here, not really but there is stuff that sounds dated sure

What do you mean what are you supposed to feel. It's a really cool record that innovated the Joy Division post-punk sound. Has a lot of cool dark/gothic industrial sounds, there's some humor with the lyrics, there's an element of nihilism and sleaziness. Nightclubbing, China Girl, Funtime are iconic. And the last track is an absolute masterpiece

i like what am i listening and it sounds good but i dont know what feeling it is trying to convey

Again there's a carefree/nihilistic attitude to it since that's pretty much what Iggy Pop is in a nutshell. it's pretty much druggie music. This album was also made as he was trying to kick heroin by moving with David Bowie to Berlin away from LA so there's an element of darkness to it

Like you're listening to a masterpiece – Iggy's best lyrics set against some of Bowie's best melodies.

If you don't feel anything when you hear "IT'S IN THE WHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITE OF MY EYES" then you are a lost cause

Its a masterpiece

For me it's Iggy's based schizo rambling on Zombie Birdhouse

horny, cool, decadent, sharply flipping between deeply emotional and cold detachment, wanting love but being too driven by personal freedom (drugs) to commit.
Dum Dum Boys is reminiscing about your old knucklehead friends who fucked their lives up too but didnt have a cool rich fren to bail them out with a ticket to berlin
>>
I wish I could listen to The Idiot again. Bowie was at his peak at this point of his career
