Instead of listening to music I have recently started recording hour long audios of random noises on this recorder and listen to them instead. I have found this suits me better

I often just leave a tascam in my kayak during a ride or will leave it outside to hear the wind or the birds waking up in the morning. I usually just use it for background ambient though

I have hours of field Recordings of walks with my dog. The Winter beach ones are some of the best. The crunchyness of the cold sand, Windy water, exited dog barking from far Away, flock of swans taking off. Good times.

I find that it feels more magical and personal that way because those sounds will never happen quite that way again. People treat John Cage's 4'33 as a joke but unironically just stopping and listening to the little sounds around you, enjoying it as a kind of abstract music, can change your life.
