What are some of your favorite examples of artists/musicians who were briefly popular commercially but flamed out hard, only to make their qualitatively best and most highly regarded music well after their commercial peak?>pic relatedI completely forgot about Logic after he "retired", I thought he either fucked off completely given he was a massive lolcow and/or died; for whatever reason I thought about him in passing the other day and checked out picrel given I remember he teased it all the time back when he was popular. I've been very pleasantly surprised by it given I haven't really keep up with hip-hop for a long time, and apparently the consensus is relatively universal that it's a pretty highly regarded hip-hop record for this decade and is considered his best album.

>>129468040Honestly OP I thought you were joking, but I checked and that album was actually very well received. I had no idea. I guess I’ll give it a try. I always thought Logic was pretty shit but maybe this one is actually good.
>>129468411>maybe this one is actually goodIf I were to give you an impression of what I thought it was like I'd say it's similar to MF Doom in the sense that he's rapping verbosely about the same stuff he's always rapped about and uses a loose concept influenced by pop culture trash to do so; it's just that he's so much more articulate and creative and so much less cringeworthy and unfocused. He's also improved a lot as a producer since he left, apparently from what I've heard he's self-produced all his stuff since he left his label and I guess he got way better at it because the production here is excellent.>>129468233>Terence Trent Darby and Danny WilsonNever got into either of those, will check out
