What are some other good mid 60s early 70s bands like these? Or is this peak

The Who are fantastic, and I believe you'd like them if you're a big Kinks fan.

The Stones are fucking awful. That shit is for turboboomers who unironically accept the 9/11 commission report.

I have no idea what schizoid shit you're talking about, but they are better than The Beatles, and probably the greatest British band of all time.

Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake and Forever Changes deserve to be up there with Revolver and Something Else, which I consider two of the very best albums of that decade. Apart from those 2 albums, Tin Soldier, Afterglow of Your Love and All Or Nothing were pivotal foundation stones for all British rock music that came after, while Da Capo by Love is in its own right a fantastic, classic album that was overshadowed and overlooked because Forever Changes was so great.
The Stones never made a classic album in the 60s (although they were close multiple times, but their best work is, obviously, Exile On Main St.). On the strength of Jumpin' Jack Flash and b-side Child of the Moon they, in any case, should be considered the best out of all bands mentioned in here. People often talk about innovation and experimentation and all kinds of other BULLSHIT, that's all well and good but literally everything else recorded in that decade gets turbo mogged by Jumpin' Jack Flash, Street Fighting Man and Gimmie Shelter. Oh, and The Who were always a singles band and don't have any classic albums (unless you're a braindead boomer and think Tommy or Quadrophenia somehow are enjoyable, lmao). Live at Leeds, however, great. Finally there's Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac who were fucking amazing and should be in contention on the strength of Man of the World and Oh Well alone.

This is probably what you are looking for, OP.

Emitt Rhodes, The Milennium and Odessey and Oracle(album by The Zombies) are very similar to this type of sound as well.
