europe used to have a strong club culture
because back in the 80s and 90s, the US was still making really good rock music and started making hip hop, so if you liked beats, you listened to hip hop.other than the UK, europe never made any good rock and roll, and they didn't really make any hip hop until later. so all they had going for them was discotheques.
