rock music was phased out of the mainstream because it’s too white. Change my view
>>
>>129483677
it was replaced by house and thats even more for white people
>>
>>129483677
country is whiter than rock and it’s still forced onto us. The answer you’re looking for is rock is too male-centric which is why it was phased out
>>
>>129483677
Doubtful. The same record execs behind rock were also behind gangsta rap's explosion in the early 90s.
>>
>>129483677
No. It was simply because of normies. Normies want to hear pop slop and hoodrats want rap until they are 40 yo adults that still wear basketball shoes like losers.
>>
>>129483677
Can you white cucks stop acting like victims?
>>
>>129483677
it became very formulated and stale just like punk and emo. most bands are trying to look and sound like whitesnake or quiet riot. if you look back, Van Halen, AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, Led Zeppelin, and Ozzy all looked and sounded different
>>
I relate more to white people than black people even tho I am neither.
>>
Whats up with people making the absolute threads and using pepe as the OP
>>
>>129483677
nice try faggot race bait maker but the fact is that contemporary mainstream rock music is lame in comparison with pre 2005
>>
>>129483881
Everything is stale as fuck now yet it keeps going anyway. Dumb argument
>>
And replaced with the Whitest White woman artist of the millennium?

What actually happened is that Western record executives figured out that solo acts require less capex to get off the ground, because recording, promoting, traveling, and lodging for a one-person act is cheaper than a five-person act. The Metallicas, Wu-Tang Clans, and Dave Matthews Bands that would have existed in the modern day have largely been replaced by solo acts that were perceived as inherently less risky to invest in.
>>
music was forced out of the mainstream because you can just type whatever you want into youtube search and listen to it. no one knows who or what "sabrina carpenter" is they listen to slowed and reverbed tik tok songs. record label guys are killing themselves
>>
>>129483677
talent and artists are expensive.

rock got phased out because record companies realized they could make just as much money with DJs with minimal cost.

And then Live producers even more so. One guy up there pushing play is much less expensive in every sense of the word than a 4- or 5-piece rock band with all their fuckin' shit, problems and issues.

NIN is currently on a sold out tour. Tame Impala's upcoming tour sold out within an hour

Are you fucking retarded, or are you fucking retarded? White women popstars are all blatantly anti-white you stupid fucking shithead. Fuck off with your gay ass, normie ass, surface level room temperature IQ "economics" argument. You're a complete fucking moron. Stupid as shit like all other mu posters. What a shocker.

rock music lost the “it’s rebel” “it’s anti-system” thing, it’s too boomer and too reactionary, and of course became boring af, it has nothing to do with whiteness (its base is black music, no matter what the denialist racist regular 4ch dwellers say)

>>129486873
>>129486961
that’s a factor too but it’s not exclusive of rock, many other genres made mostly by bands have been dying since early 21st century
>>
>>129490603
easy boomer, take your meds, no one here wants u to have a heart attack because of some random incel’s opinion

70s were just better
people just wore what they had on
they were stars because they did something great, not because of their fucking stylists team

it's not marketable to the youth anymore. zoomers have no rebellious streak, they eat the slop and do what claude tells them. they're fish brained turbo-normalfags who live and breathe social media, which is the exact opposite of a rock and roll mentality. millennials were the last rock and roll generation, and they got fucked over by music executive meddling, i.e. by the efforts of the music industry to change the palette and musical consumption habits of the masses. it's why pop and rap rose to take the place of rock. it's more manageable from a music executive's standpoint.
>>
>>129483677
not necessarily that it was "white" but rather its "whiteness" made it "uncool" and it got associated with either old people or whiny teenagers
>>
>>129490658
shit americans say
>>
>>129483677
To put it in words you can understand: Other things that were very "white" had a lot of nonwhites come in. eSports, streaming, tabletop games, comics, etc.
If there's an agenda it's clearly capable of subverting things en masse. Why would Rock be an exception that had to be taken out wholesale instead?
Tastes simply changed.
>>
I agree, it was phased out during the obama years right around when corporations started adopting DEI and diversity initiatives. So mainstream music gets whittled down to pop and pop rap. or music only becomes for white girls and black guys.
>>
I don’t care about rock I just really hate slip slop. even electronic music replacing it would be better
