Am I right in thinking most members of the DC hardcore scene in the 80s were rich kids whose parents were journalists, lawyers and federal government employees? I know that most of the city was a ghetto, except for the vicinity of capitol hill, even moreso than it is today, and the only band to have obviously come from the ghetto were the Bad Brains who were one of the founders of the scene.
