Y2K nostalgia slop

No. I lived during that time. It sucked and I'm glad it's over.
>>
>>129532515
Based. I'm honestly sick of nostalgiafags, especially vicarious nostalgiafags who weren't even there
>>
i enjoyed the opener on a basic level. less bothered by the nostalgia and more by the gutlessness. needs a bit more tension,

didn't know anyone then that carried a PSP, a disc man AND an ipod. Aside from the redundancy of the discman and ipod anyone I knew with a PSP when it dropped used it for everything from music to watching porn and South Park

I had a PSP but I barely touched it because it fucking sucked ass, barely any good games for it, really they were only good for the Homebrew scene

>>
>>129532515
Yeah that aesthetic was boring back in the days.. I think they were taking pictures of something natural and giving them this technologised/electro look that zoomies today think it was so sovlfvl

Gives me flashbacks to Aphex Twin, Ronie Size, Indian Ropeman, FSOL, Prodigy, 808 State, Leftfield, Orbital, Pendulum, Bomfunk MC's, Apollo 440, Talvin Singh, Kid Koala, Jam&Spoon, Goldie and playing Tomb Rider on a CRT monitor on my Pentium III shitbox

ep1 was pretty decent i thought, ep2 was admittedly slop and they have obviously run out of ideas already

I hated my life since 1988 and it only got worse with every year until around 2012. So I tend to avoid any nostalgia in between.

Took a long time until the PSP started getting good games.

Disidia 012 Final Fantasy, the GTA "stories" games, kingdom hearts, Ratchet and Clank, Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, etc
It was an emulator that people were making PS2 games on.

Weirds me out that the dude in this bands last name is Epstein, has playlists on his personal Spotify account “for Jeff”, and his icon on his insta account has a slightly sus looking swirl. Maybe I’m too conspiracy brained now that the files have been coming out.

The music is milquetoast, I like a few songs.

80s music mog this trash
>>
>>129550358
The 80s were all around better than the 90s and definitely the 00s. But most of the faggots currently on 4chan were too young to remember the 80s or weren’t even born then. Hence why they consider the 90s to be the greatest time ever. When if you turned 18 in that decade, you’ll realise it really wasn’t.

I didn't live through the 80s but I still think they were the greatest decade for popular music, if we think of the incredible genre innovation in that decade.
I don't care that there was a lot of shallow (p)optimism and ridiculous spandex rock, there was also a whole lot of experimentation and blending of genres that created really unique styles

Like Art of Noise or Depeche Mode or Pixies or REM or Siouxsie and PIL. Or Sugarcubes. Really, the 80s beat any other decade in terms of novelty/time unit

the 80s were great, the 90s were a reaction against 80s excess and greed, and was also great.
the 2000s is only retroactively great because of how shit the 2010s were.
I was a kid in the 2000s and i remember hating it because i was told how great the 90s were and how i never experienced nirvana, and grunge, and alt rock, and like as a kid the only rock bands you got in the 2000s was fucking limp bizket and creed, just total butt rock garbage.

then the 2010s happened, rock just straight up dies, music gets whittled down to pop and pop rap, maybe some electronic music, but its now called edm and its generic bro dude garbage like skrillex whose audience would have been listening to korn had they been born a decade earlier. And then there was the rise of wokeness and liberals turning into micro managing moral police who want to control everything you do and say, and culture became flat and stale and boring.

the only good thing about the 2010s was when trump won, it was hilarious, the first time in the 2010s i felt like this woke shit would end, liberals had thought they had won forever so they went mask off, but that was over.

2020s has been a bland nothingness, pop rap died, now we are left with country music and white girl pop sluts who think hating men and acting like a slut while singing over a retro 80s instrumental is some ground breaking shit, like maddona wasnt doing that 100 years ago

Yeah but there's a difference between Black Crows doing a Stones larp in the 90s and Nirvana having some slight 80s influences but coming up with a new sound overall.

The whole idea behind these tunes is sounding like that cool thing from the past, with some extra 'updated' layering. It's like simulating the past with new tools. Pastiche

What is it with people making nostalgia bait music for a time they never lived in, you get people born in the mid-to-late 80s making synthwave slop, mid-to-late 90s making 90s nostalgia music, and people born in the mid-to-late 00s making y2kslop

>>129534319
i started HS in 05 so a little later but yeah I agree, mainstream culture during this time was some of the worst of all time. I rejected it by dressing like an indie fag, pretty much an urban outfitters / american apparel ad. I hung out with the myspace style scene girls and shit even tho I always hated that era of post-hardcore. Even all the indie shit that I thought was so important at the time just doesn't hold up anymore.
I hate to be a 'le wrong generation'er but I do think I would have thrived in nearly any other generation, even now. I had my peak after college though so I'm not bitter about itt

Maybe but it was definitely not a popular widespread thing like some people make it seem by creating these y2k anime-themed covers

You don't realise that back then anime was not superpopular in the west, it was a very niche thing. Anime got more popular after emo influenced everything and the whole culture became a lot more focused on emotions, dramatic atmosphere, that is typical of anime

If you were an anime fan in the late 90s early 00s you would look like some weakass weirdo probably a faggot

Also were they alive in the 50s they would be wearing I Like Ike shirt pins and watching performers do ersatz rock-and-roll covers on Perry Como's TV show, no they would not be hanging out with Jack Kerouac or listening to Muddy Waters long before the Rolling Stones had ever heard of him.

the 50s had some terribly corny mainstream pop and it's easy to go "Perry Como this, Doris Day that", but there was still a real substantiative alt music scene of cool jazz, blues, and even country was great at the time. that wasn't really the case by the 00s, such "alt" music as there was consisted of buttindie slop and of course country totally lost it and became nothing but pandering to Fox News viewers.

Trump is the last bastion of hope
In china they rape the Uighur Muslims
And the commie college kid fuckhead cunts are so brainwashed they'll celebrate it as a necessary function of the state to strip the oppression of religion away from people
But when the state is your religion
You have no free will

It’s so bad.

The Y2K revival died the moment that single was released, I felt it. It was over in 2022 guys, move the fuck on.

Good albums however include
>Wet - Letter Blue
>Kitty Ray - frostbite
>shygirl - nymph
>lots of ultra caro
>early pinkpanthress
>Oklou gets a pass because she actually innovates
