I don't get it
its a machine that goes bleep when you press a button. its how electric music is made (thats a full description of the creative process from start to finish. the button --> bleep pipeline is real).
>>129586352Some people like expensive cars, some like things that make them look like experts at something.
>>129586352modular synths are a meme nowadays but the idea was that each module was a parametric analog circuit that did something you'd like, like generate sound or filter it, and you'd combine them for the result you wantpirate fl studio or some shit and fuck around with the Patcher. modular synths are just the boomer version of that
If you want to add a reverb or something to a modern synth you just turn the dial but these old synths required you to plug it into another input and this was required for every different qualities you wanted to add
>>129586352Sounds like shit
>>129586352same. i'm too busy getting fucked up the ass by fat old men to care
You don't need more than this.
>>129586352It's simpler than it looks. It's like a regular synth but you buy all the components separately and have to connect them yourself like legos. The advantage is that you aren't bound to the manufacturer's specific signal path. The disadvantage... well just look at it.
>>129586352
>>129589364>The disadvantage.you will tweek around all weekend and never actually finish a real track.plus a decent system cost a fortune!
>Yeah bro just gonna lock myself up in a tiny room with a fucking cold war era computer looking hardware monstrosity tweaking knobs and rearranging wires for 10 hours or so until I get a shitty bleep bloop beat that takes 5 minutes in Ableton Genuine insanity. I bet there's a positive correlation between trooning out owning a modular synth.
