It's just the same album over and over, how does even have an audience?
They used to be so good
>>129587206Plastic Beach > Gorillaz > The Now Now > Demon Days > Cracker Island > Song Machine > The Fall > The Mountain > D-Sides > G-Sides > Humanz > Sleeping Powder > Doncamatic > Meanwhile... > DoYaThing
>>129587340Nobody asked.
>>129587366lmao get his ass
>>129587206Delirium is so fucking good senpai can't complain about it with a tune that big. There's lot of moments of sincere loss from damon here. The argentinian rapper feat sucks so much ass tho such a forced motherfucker.
>>129587206>audiencekinda flopping so far
>listen to the album>don't like it with the exception of one song: damascus>google the song to learn more about it>turns it out it was written and recorded in 2010 and was supposed to be released as part of plastic beachwell that explains it i guess
>>129587206>how does even have an audience?Because it's astroturfed and promoted like crazy. Most people are cattle who only want industry pre-approved slop shoved down their throats. They are incapable of thinking for themselves, they only want what's already considered "popular" because it's safer and it allows them to fit in with a crowd.
>>129587206The first two Gorillaz albums were a fluke, the rest of Gorillaz has been the same boring slop as Blur. Damon Albarn just isn't that talented.
>>129587284It was because of the hip hop and dub influences. It was cool, dark, and cryptic. Now it's a flanderized version that can't hold my attention.
>>129587206>more jeet pilled britbongsits all so tiresome
>>129591129I'm increasingly convinced that Gorillaz was a "you had to be there" thing for the turn of the millennium, and the farther we drift away from the early 2000s, the more irrelevant it becomes (and the more Albarn and Hewlett struggle to figure out what to do with it). That first album in particular is right up there with Discovery as one of those quintessential albums that sounds like Y2K. In hindsight, D-Sides probably should have been the last hurrah for the project.
>>129591962That's a pretty good assessment. People reaching for The Now Now and The Mountain are a different generation. Not Demon Days fans. I think Plastic Beach is worthy of a last hurrah instead. Have to end on a big project, not cutting room floor stuff. If it ends with D-Sides/Demon Days, it would just be another The Good, The Bad, & The Queen.
it would be cool if damon still had it in him to do another smash hit song like feel good inc or song 2, those days seem long gone tho
All I remember is some parts with Asian cave tunes and mos def rapping
i mostly like this album except for a couple songs but it;s lacking edge u'd hear on earlier stuff
>>129589734>They are incapable of thinking for themselves, they only want what's already considered "popular" because it's safer and it allows them to fit in with a crowd. You described the ENTIRE music scene right now. Alternative, Mainstream, everything.I'm assuming a lot of people in /mu/ believe their music taste is niche and rare, when in reality they are like every other RYMcore music listener.I am in the same group, but the difference between me and them is that I do not have some sort of superiority complex about listening to music. I listen to it because it soothes me.

>>129587206After plastic beach he's been obsessed with the synthpop / new wave bs. When is he going to drop it
