Trading jazzmaster today. Going to see if I can find a Gibson
>>
>>129589439
Good luck
I doubt there's gonna be anything particularly interesting at jazzmaster trade in value
>>
>>129589439
Did /gg/ bully you or something? lol
>>
>>129589448
Yeah if it's too expensive I'll probably just find a jazzmaster with a rhythm circuit and call it a day.

>>129589450
Nah, I would say it's more low impulse control mixed with my interest in guitars growing. Plus when I researched all the bands I like the gibson shows up every time. Im sure the jazzmaster is still on plenty of records I've heard. The biggest factor in playing will always be how well can I play rather than how good is my instrument. I'm mostly doing this for curiosity over needing an actual upgrade. If i cant find a gibson for 900 maybe 1k then I'm just getting a better jazzmaster probably
>>

Well, they're both great guitars, but good luck on the find. You may luck out on a used Gibson SG for that price.

The store i go to for guitars will usually make a deal and knock some money off. Im also going to throw in my deluxe bass big muff.

I’m hoping it’s not as bad of a case for you. I went from playing steel string acoustic to playing 9s on a strat but still had tendonitis and had to quit guitar completely. playing in the classical position may also help as it will keep your wrist as straight as possible

>>
>>129591427
Hope you get better soon, but... Do you grip the neck with retard strength? Only players I know who ever injured their fretting wrist would put pressure on the neck with their thumb, rather than resting it there. Its making my wrist hurt just thinking about it.
>>
>>129591552
I'm not far off from you sadly, I can't play acoustic guitar because of wrist pain too. Years of training in a mcdojo messed up my wrists. I actually play a banjo but I didn't want to disclose it, so my strings are already much lighter than those of a guitar. I'm rarely if ever playing any barre chords because of the way the banjo is set up and I'm already playing in the classical position. Switching to an even lighter gauge and playing less are about the only things I can do now, if that fails then I'm fucked.

Why are people complaining about strap stud placement? It literally doesn’t matter.
>>
>>129593081
neck dive. the only people who care are SG players who got unlucky with an unbalanced SG
>>
>>129593088
The stud placement on an sg has nothing to do with its neck dive.
>>
>>129593100
retard. the stud is the pivot point. physics
>>
>>129593107
It has nothing to do with that. If the stud was on the horn it would still have neck dive due to the location where the neck meets the body and the relative light weight of the body compared to the neck sticking out farther.

Then why haven’t any of my other guitars that have had stud placement at the same place as an SG not have any neck dive at all? If you really think moving the stud placement an inch farther forward and two inches higher really will make that much difference then you are the retard. Again, stud placement has nothing to do with why SGs have neck dive.

>why do my other guitars where every variable is different not have neck dive
>>
>>129593193
because the SG is often unbalanced in a way other guitar aren't. doesn't mean that the stud placement isn't a factor. an unbalanced sg with neck dive can be fixed by changing the pivot point
>>
>>129593100
ESP moved the stud specifically to address neck dive, it is a factor but not the sole one

Why does the Map of the Problematique effect sound so shit in context with a backing track?
Here's what I'm playing. I'm not even using that much distortion. I don't expect studio quality, exact copies of the recording in regards to my backing track jams, but it should at least sound like a live version of the song. But it doesn't.

Just my guitar.
https://vocaroo.com/1iDnFEkX6hli
Can someone upload a DI of them playing that at 130bpm?
>>
>>129593953
from my experience distortion isnt peaky like whats going in the song. you need something like a fuzz or drive pedal that specifically changes the waveforms in the same way. any distortion will likely smooth out the peaks and change the sound. to be honest i can barely even hear what youre playing over the track

I get this often when jamming to backing tracks. No matter what I do, it sounds bad. I don't know if it's because my basic mixing skills are bad, but how hard can it be to get a guitar, bass, drums and vocals to sound good.

yeah you should totally go into a guitar store and spend 15 minutes looking for a worker to get a rolling ladder to get the one american guitar you are kind of interested in but it’s the wrong color and not even the actual model you want to try to find a cable to plug into an amp you don’t really use and hope it’s not covered in jizz stains and half broken from the 200 neanderthals that played it before you

in my opinion it actively inhibits learning. it’s cool to play around in the tone studio but viewing music through the lense of the guitar hero style ui is an active detriment to learning guitar. it’ll make you good at learning the rocksmith ui but unless you dissect the songs piece by piece and understand their relationship with the fretboard it will actively hinder your development

however if you already know your scales and open chords, the little minigames can be fun. as far as the cables go idk I’ve never tried it with a daw
