ok fuckin maestro lets hear your rendition, I'm playing off the cuff thats the first time i listened to the backing track you can literally hear me locking in with the chord changes the longer it goes. All my roos are clicking the backing track and letting rip, no retakes, nothing written.
>>129589067oh yeah? keep talkin' like that kid and I'm gonna write a letter to the band and have you kicked out. You think we really need your ideas? As if, we already have 4 other guitarists and even the singer belts out a meaner solo than you do dude, so just cool it alright? Trading jazzmaster today. Going to see if I can find a Gibson
>>129589439Good luckI doubt there's gonna be anything particularly interesting at jazzmaster trade in value
>>129589439Did /gg/ bully you or something? lol
>>129589448Yeah if it's too expensive I'll probably just find a jazzmaster with a rhythm circuit and call it a day. >>129589450Nah, I would say it's more low impulse control mixed with my interest in guitars growing. Plus when I researched all the bands I like the gibson shows up every time. Im sure the jazzmaster is still on plenty of records I've heard. The biggest factor in playing will always be how well can I play rather than how good is my instrument. I'm mostly doing this for curiosity over needing an actual upgrade. If i cant find a gibson for 900 maybe 1k then I'm just getting a better jazzmaster probably

You may luck out on a used Gibson SG for that price.
>>129589675The store i go to for guitars will usually make a deal and knock some money off. Im also going to throw in my deluxe bass big muff.
A Gibson is only good enough, or however it goes.
nobody bleeds for the dancer
I'm rereading Beck and I just looked up for this scene in the anime:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kM75kyrF-8sBut people seem to be shitting on Ryuusuke in the comment. I knew nothing about guitars, is Ryuusuke that bad? It sounds cool to me.
>>129589439What kind of Gibson are you looking for? The current production SGs and Specials are really great guitars and can be had used for around $1200-$1500.

I love jazz guitar ballads so much. Listening to Tony Mottola currently. Wish i could afford a big box Gibson semi hollow but I can't even afford a sire h7 atm
jazz sounds a lot better without guitar
>>129591153its a fireman but i made it from scratch so i put my own headstock on it
>>129591202For me It's In Your Own Sweet Way by Wes Montgomery and Tommy Flanagan on piano
>>129591202Get a D'Angelico. They can be found heavily discounted all the time. Even Gibson ES-175/335s are made of of laminate wood so truth be told you might even get a better sound from one of the spruce top Dangelicos. You can easily cop that sound for cheap
>>129591227Nothing wrong with laminate on electric anyways.

>>129591401I want one with the rhythm circuit. I'll just invest in a 2nd guitar when I'm good enough. Also the epiphone neck is slightly more comfortable than the jazzmaster. Im pretty happy with this trade.
>>129591419>Im pretty happyThat's all that matters. Have you plugged it in yet? How are the P90s?
i keep getting wrist pain in my fretting hand, do any of you have any warmup wrist exercises or stretches or shit like that? im sick of having to take breaks from playing

>>129591530I’m hoping it’s not as bad of a case for you. I went from playing steel string acoustic to playing 9s on a strat but still had tendonitis and had to quit guitar completely. playing in the classical position may also help as it will keep your wrist as straight as possible
>>129591365Hard to go wrong with an SG Special, love me an SG Special.
>>129591543>don't expect anything crazyYou're recording for the circus. Anything other than a pentatonic shred would be refreshing. Good luck man

>>129591702>chindonesia Ibanezyeah that’s a hell fucking naw from me dude
why do you hate ibanez?
I’ve had to fix close to 100 of them when I worked at guitar center for a year
>>129591427Hope you get better soon, but... Do you grip the neck with retard strength? Only players I know who ever injured their fretting wrist would put pressure on the neck with their thumb, rather than resting it there. Its making my wrist hurt just thinking about it.
>>129591552I'm not far off from you sadly, I can't play acoustic guitar because of wrist pain too. Years of training in a mcdojo messed up my wrists. I actually play a banjo but I didn't want to disclose it, so my strings are already much lighter than those of a guitar. I'm rarely if ever playing any barre chords because of the way the banjo is set up and I'm already playing in the classical position. Switching to an even lighter gauge and playing less are about the only things I can do now, if that fails then I'm fucked.

Why are people complaining about strap stud placement? It literally doesn’t matter.
>>129593081neck dive. the only people who care are SG players who got unlucky with an unbalanced SG
>>129593088The stud placement on an sg has nothing to do with its neck dive.
>>129593100retard. the stud is the pivot point. physics
>>129593107It has nothing to do with that. If the stud was on the horn it would still have neck dive due to the location where the neck meets the body and the relative light weight of the body compared to the neck sticking out farther.
>>129593135if i hold you by the leg and the arm you won't rotate. if i hold you by the leg and put my hand on your back you will rotate

>>129592278>the one link that's supposed to last forever doesn't lastOh well, whoever bakes next should re-upload it. I have it saved but catbox isnt working for me.
>>129593157Then why haven’t any of my other guitars that have had stud placement at the same place as an SG not have any neck dive at all? If you really think moving the stud placement an inch farther forward and two inches higher really will make that much difference then you are the retard. Again, stud placement has nothing to do with why SGs have neck dive.
soldering is easier than I thought it would befiguring out which wire goes where, that's the tough part
>>129593157holy………………can it be……………….. no way…………………. unless……………………?
>>129593193>why do my other guitars where every variable is different not have neck dive
>>129593193because the SG is often unbalanced in a way other guitar aren't. doesn't mean that the stud placement isn't a factor. an unbalanced sg with neck dive can be fixed by changing the pivot point
>>129593100ESP moved the stud specifically to address neck dive, it is a factor but not the sole one

>>129594732like live? while you play? I reckon at least another decade and a supremely high end rig. We're talking its gotta listen and process and playback all within 15ms to avoid perceptible delay, doable but far away
>>129590456My Chinese Strat copy's inlays are damn near perfect.>Made in America. My fucking sides.
>>129595215gibsons have fucked up g strings
>>129595233yes use the filters in your 4chan settings
>>129595281Holy fuck i didn't know that and I thought you were kidding until I Googled it. I didnt buy a guitar to constantly do maintenance. Fuck that im replacing this.
>>129595256yea i want to talk to it like an alexa and react to my playing as if it's a jam partner. more like a jam slave
>>1295911091. Alcyone2. Sybil3. Yuko4. (as yet unnamed)5. Margaret Beverly
>>129595233Here we go if anyone else wants add this to your filters, fucking amazing./^(?:(?!voca)[\s\S])*$/i

>this company has bad QCmy brother in christ YOU have bad QC, try before you buy
Real niggas got that Boogie. Real niggas play that plexi
boggles the mind anyone buying gear online, i mean I did too but I got lucky or my tolerance for dogshit stuff is pretty high.
Thinking about selling some stuff and picking up a vintage spec Strat, either a 50s spec with a maple board and sunburst or an early 60s spec with a rosewood board and Olympic white, both with a 7.25” radius and vintage size frets. Good enough for my favorite guys good enough for me
yeah you should totally go into a guitar store and spend 15 minutes looking for a worker to get a rolling ladder to get the one american guitar you are kind of interested in but it’s the wrong color and not even the actual model you want to try to find a cable to plug into an amp you don’t really use and hope it’s not covered in jizz stains and half broken from the 200 neanderthals that played it before you
>>129590456I dont understand why this image got so many replies. I'll never be a fucking guitarist
>>129595526or you walk into a store see the model you want in the color you want, try it, like it, and go home
Or you order online and save $500 on a mint instrument instead of full price on a demo unit.
>>129595528a real guitarrist would have no problem playing that guitar
>>129595528The dots on a 3k+ custom shop guitar should be centered to the thousandth of an inch. That looks like shit.
>>129595526I have been playing guitar for two decades and have only ever bought one guitar from an actual guitar store. Guitars being sold as new in stores when 200+ mouthbreathers have already got their grease all over it = cringe, used guitars already beat up by whoever but still used = ok
>>129595541>walk into a store see the model you wantthis never happens unless you want $600 Indonesian instruments
>>129595541poorfag
>>129595572>>129592682this strat came right off the wall of a guitar center and its my favorite guitarthe employee tried to sell me the same model in a box and i said no i want the one i played
>>129595562Mod shop guitars are neither $3000 or "custom shop", though there's no reason to believe it's even a mod shop guitar from the photo.
>>129595578That's exactly what this is. Im fucking sick of it.
slow and steady wins the race

>>129595595My bad.A Mod shop guitar that ranges between 1700 to 2200 shouldn't have fret markers that are that pathetic.
>>129595655Buckbrokenanon needs a good amp
>>129595658Correct, thank you.
>>129595658with everything being CNC now, no guitar should have fret markers like that

anyone have experience with rocksmith as a learning tool? just bought it sale for 3 bucks, wondering what to expecthope I don't actually have to shell out $30 for the proprietary cable it supposedly requires
>>129597194in my opinion it actively inhibits learning. it’s cool to play around in the tone studio but viewing music through the lense of the guitar hero style ui is an active detriment to learning guitar. it’ll make you good at learning the rocksmith ui but unless you dissect the songs piece by piece and understand their relationship with the fretboard it will actively hinder your development
>>129597218however if you already know your scales and open chords, the little minigames can be fun. as far as the cables go idk I’ve never tried it with a daw
