when metal is good it's pretty top tier. there's a lot of bad metal though. it's also a genre with so many sub-genres with radically different styles. Revenge and Iron Maiden are both metal but pretty much unrecognizable from each other. it's also got a very insufferable fanbase like punk and jazz where they argue a lot over what is and isn't apart of the genre and fixating on the dumbest shit. overall a genre i'm glad to be a tourist of and nothing more.
