>Start switching to ipod/walkman or even cds and cassettes >Still got the same reaction from Boomers who love breakable vinyl discs How old are we talking?
ah yes CDs and cassettes, literally unbreakable
>>129649051All my friends who like vinyl (millennials) are simply consumerists. Oh, they'll spin it the day it arrives in the mail, but never again. It will only be listened via streaming service/YouTubers afterwards. I get supporting artists. But buddy, I don't NOT care that you got the ultra-rare "shit'n'piss'blood splatter colorway," limited to a run of 25. Collecting can be fun, but stop pretending your vinyl and Pokemon cards are going to put your kids through college. And no, it doesn't sound better than other formats. Vinyl enthusiasts just tend to invest in high-end speakers and whatnot. As for boomers, idk. All boomers I know legitimately love streaming music. My dad gave me his vinyl collection because he knows he'll never spin them again. Just like AI, it's a big leap from the tech they grew up with, so it's fun for them.Only the youth crave obsolete tech, simply because they haven't experienced it firsthand.

I do like the idea of not having big corpo spy on my listening habits but streaming is too convenient to give up.
