How does the most boring instrument in existence turned into the face of music?
Even a lute is better
>>

Have you ever tried to play a lute? It died out for a reason
>>
>>129652831
It's very accessible and stupidly easy to learn
>>
>>129653030
And easily portable..and polyphonic..proven it's use in just about any genre..and extremely expandable and moddable.

we have the blessing of being able to listen to music from any time period whether the original recording, or a performance of a transcription. the inbred gypsies and hillbillies that played guitar didnt even have the money or literacy for books so a 1-4-5 in G was like a new revelation to them. people that were playing violin and piano etc were already entrenched in prior music so the market wasnt as volatile. look at today, however, where guitar is used for nothing more than strumming a chord 2 times per measure, where guitar-focused genres like blues, rock, and metal (which is rock but with less talent) have very little viewership and are rehashing the same ideas. the western guitar has only been around for 80 years and it already ran its course.

guitar popularity didn't explode until the electric guitar. so it has nothing to do with the guitar itself, it has to do with the new sounds being created by electric guitar equipment. people couldn't get enough and there was always something new

Those gypsies were doing more than 1-4-5. Practically created jazz guitar.

Nothing classical about it.
Besides, gypsies were behind a lot flamenco too. It was classical guitar that came later.

How does the biggest faggot in existence managed to take his hands out of his ass in order to start a thread? That's the real question.
