Do you guys think the guitar/electric guitar will stand the rest of time or will it fade in obscurity, becoming one of those niche instruments like the theorbo or the Lute?

>>129654043If it fell off, all of these companies would be falling apart. Some have... like the Washburns and Deans of the world. But not the main guys.It doesn't even have to be that rock has to thrive. It's a combination of multiple genres that keep it all alive. And even bands that don't put guitars at the forefront still use them. You got popstars like Taylor Swift and Halsey who play guitars, or little EDM duos like Magdalena Bay. They're just there to add to whatever else they're doing. In addition to the rock and country out there. It all adds up.
>>129654043this. the guitar center genres like bluegrass, rock, metal, punk are dead as fuck, and everyone walked away from jazz when electric guitar joined. guitar is now just good for strumming a chord every bar or two but piano can do that better also.

Case in point is why there’s all these Asian fakers and sped up wobble wobble dubstep hyper-processed guitar.Piano and violin are no different, drums to a lesser extent. Once there are pedagogical materials written about every aspect, the instrument needs to evolve. When was the last time you played cat gut strings in a near-silent auditorium filled with the hoi-paloi listening with rapt attention?>yesterday, o sexy slimeI think the future is in songwriting, and even all the bells and whistles of DAWs are still exciting when used right. I love this thing. I’m thinking about selling some of my less played guitars to fund another Rick but a proper 360 or maybe 330. This thing just feels and sounds so great though, a proper semi hollow Rick is definitely the essential Rickenbacker but this thing being a neck through just makes it sustain like crazy. >>129656271it is possible.

>>129656273Explain for upstrokes. I use the metal ones in my fingertips
>>129655366>all lipstick custom makeI'm going to look past your textured walls and say dangerously based.
>>129653626What did you guys learn today
>>129656120i recently learned the treble clef gets a little extra curl at the bottom to denote you're playing 1 octave lower than usual so the guitar's full register can be contained within that clef and if the treble clef doesn't have the little curl you're likely playing the tune an octave too low
>>129656385nice
>>129656380I learned two very hard songs. I had to study the rhythm very carefully because I was learning to generate more harmonic movement without changing chords. what did you learn?
>>129654786only two pickups and yet 5 knobs AND a switch wowee
>>129656380just writing my songs and polishing my riffs
>>129656380I learned how to integrate 1st and 2nd string spacing (being that the b and g string interval puts everything a step ahead on the next two strings) into the other strings chord shapes. Sounds obvious but it takes a practical exploration for it to really click for me and today it did

Bob Marley was buried with his guitar.
>>129656467Very easy to specify those wishes in your will if he didn’t do that it’s on him
learning songs written by other people is like tracing other people's artwhat happens when you have a blank canvas
>>129656467either those guitars have faded a lot or the lighting makes them look like shit.the fool SG looks terriblealso the only original parts on Gilmours black strat are the body (chopped up to put a khaler in) and the neck and middle pickups.you can build an exact replica for under $5000 using era correct parts
>>129656493hopefully you can use some of the physical skills you learned tracing in creative ways
>>129656493>telling others how they should be playing
>>129656493make sure you don't listen to music made by other people or else you will be inspired by someone else's art and not your own
>>129656503or you could buy a loaf of bread and some roast beef, which you will enjoy much more
>>129656509>telling others how to postapply for mod
>>129656506how do you bridge the gap

>>129656637How did you get this picture of me?
how important is playing in time for guitar?
>>129656707extremely important
>>129656707Not too much if you're Australian.
>>129656707Gotta up be there.I have two drummer friends who picked up guitar late in life and both sounded great in under a year. They mostly played metal rhythm, but they had timing, rhythm, and speed down in a way I never did in that timeframe.
>>129656707As a solo instrument? Forget about it.As a part of a song? Instrumental pun intended.
