Local band in my city usually sells 100–200 tickets but suddenly sales collapsed because a tribute band plays the same night. Any ideas to push last-minute attendance?

It’s your band isn’t it? Welcome to the industry, you will sell less and less tickets and be thankful for what you get.

Nah man, they’re just some friends of mine. The drummer is actually the son of a reggae musician who played with The Wailers — his band was called Kameleba — so they already have way more opportunities than the average underground band.

And honestly, they sound better than like 80% of the bands around today. Anglos might not realize it, but some of the best post-punk actually came out of Argentina — bands like Patricio Rey and Sumo. These guys mix reggae with that kind of sound and it’s great.

Give it a year and we can have this conversation again. These guys will be the new… I don’t even know what to compare them to, because anglos don’t really get that scene.
