My dad listened to this front to back when it came out when he was still a kid. I remember at the start of the album where Ian goes "My word's but a whisper, your deafness a shout" he would do a thing where he lightly punched my arm at the DUN and we'd laugh. But I eventually knew every word and we'd sing it together

RIP to my old man

Dad introduced me to this legend. Ry's albums are a mixed bag of styles, but his soundtrack work is legendary. Best slide guitarist ever.

My dad who grew up with the big four of thrash has got into Jinjer and In This Moment
over the last decade. Both are chick fronted metalcore bands.
I am confused too.

Only CD he's EVER owned throughout the years, this thing must've burned a hole in the car stereo or something, 'cause he'd never take the damn thing off (or mute it), got the whole album etched into the back of my mind now, every beat, every lyric, shit was so gas, I grew up thinking that these guys were like the beatles or the stones in terms of fame kek, most goth bitches don't even know anything beyond "she sells sanctuary" grim

The title track was my first exposure to a long song. I was like "12 minutes?! thats soooo long"
I immediately liked the first 4 minutes but took a lot longer to enjoy the whole 12 minutes
My dad also loves Yes/Jon Anderson anything
but also really likes Alan Parsons

My dad is not a music listener, but his dadcore is something like Demis Roussos

MY FATHER LISTENS TO INDIVIDUAL MISCELLANEOUS SONGS, NEVER ALBUMS: PURE B00MER STYLE.

THESE ARE SOME OF HIS RECURRING «FAVOURITE» ONES:

I would call that taste "pretty European".

His main taste is 60s / 70s rock but he never played it in the car when I was growing up.
All the stuff I heard was all the 90’s groups he liked Prodigy, Faithless, Sash, that Madonna album in the late 90’s.
He also likes more modern stuff like Dua Lipa.
